Two Weeks Later

The Uconn women's basketball game against Seton Hall had been another win, 98-73. With the holidays being around the corner, their next game was scheduled for after Christmas, December 28, against Creighton. Lucky, the odds would be in Uconn's favor due to their higher seeding.

Lana had currently been in the athletic trainers office along with Jana and Ashlynn, who decided to tag along with the older girl.

While Lana had begun heating her shoulder, Jana and Ashlynn had prompted themselves to sit on the edge of the treatment table.

"Do you guys think my parents will buy me a Dyson airwrap for Christmas?" Jana has asked the pair who just stared at her.

"What? I need your opinions cause if you don't think they will buy it, I need to add stuff to my list." Jana defended.

"Ooh, you should ask for a new MacBook since yours is so shitty it barely turns on," Ashlynn said sarcastically.

Lana's eyes had been shut due to the pain she had felt in her shoulder, but she managed to laugh at Ashlynn's attitude.

"No, Lana, I'm serious. We were in stats, and her computer literally starts erasing our entire presentation. OUR ENTIRE THING. I had to stay up the whole night redoing it." Ashlynn rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, whatever. I helped finish it when Yanna let me borrow hers," Jana said before asking, "Lana, how is your shoulder feeling?"

Opening her eyes, she answered, "It feels fucked up right now, but I am so hyped that we have a break. I have time to heat it during then."

"Same! I am going to my cousin's house for our annual Christmas party the day we are let off from here," Jana said excitedly.

"Lana, what about you, baby girl?" Ashlynn asked the oldest.

Lana laughed at the nickname, but once she really thought about it, she didn't exactly know her plans for Christmas. She was most definitely not welcome home for the holidays. Maybe her best bet would be to stay on campus. She mentally cursed at herself for not thinking about her holidays plans earlier than 4 days before break.

"I don't know, probably just gonna hang out with Maddie." Lana bent the truth. If she was going to stay on campus for break, she did not want pity from anyone else. Maybe the next best bet would be to manifest spending the holidays with her sister, even if those plans seemed slightly impossible due to the current state of her relationship with her parents.

"What about you, Smashlynn?" Lana asked.

"I am probably gonna back to Indiana. I was supposed to take a family trip to New York, but plans in my family never make it out. It's so sad," Ashlynn explained.

As the day went on and the three girls finally parted ways, Lana decided to go grab a few coffees for herself and her roommates.

The coffee shop down the street had been her new favorite.
