"P, we gotta talk," Lana said, pulling her sweatshirt back over her bra.

The blonde had been across the room trying to put her sweatpants back on. "What's up?"

"We should probably stop this," Lana said pointing her fingered between the pair. "I mean, you're getting serious with McKenna and I don't know, it just feels wrong, plus I might start dating too, you know?" Lana wasn't really looking to start dating; she just didn't want Paige to feel responsible for the arrangement coming to an end.

Paige looked into Lana's eyes for a moment, seeking for something more before speaking, "Hm.. You know what? I think you're kind of right."

"Right?" Lana spoke, trying to decipher if Paige was being sarcastic or not.

"One, two, three I think I got you pinnedd don't tap out, fight it till the end" Paige started to sing in a tone-deaf way maintaining a laugh from Lana. "No, Im serious it's been fun, we fought it till the end. Who knew the song birthday sex could be so poetic?"

"You're such a weirdo, P. Hey wait, wanna go get lunch?" Still laughing at Paige and her antics.

"Yeah, but you are paying," she told her as she put on her shoes.

"You suck, out here with your big NIL money and still making ME pay. You should be ashamed." Lana said, grabbing her keys.

As the day went on, the two girls found themselves shooting before practice.

"You know what?" Lana spoke, dribbling the ball that was in her hand before continuing. "I am honestly proud of us. We managed to stay friends without any awkwardness and wanting to kill each other." She shot the ball.

Hearing the swish of the basket and Lana's previous words, Paige decides to dramatically high-five the girl.

The two girls continued shooting around before hearing the squeaking of court shoes enter the gym. Their heads were both turning to the door, only to see Miss Nika Mühl and the people's princess, Azzi.

"Heyy," Nika spoke, her accent seeking through her tongue. Azzi just giving a smile as a hello.

"Hii," Lana said running up to the pair and hugging them aggressively. "Ugh, I haven't seen you two in like ages." She spoke dramatically.

"LJ, we literally saw you last night." Nika spoke, shaking her head and laughing at the girl.

"Yeah, but still, that was so long ago," Lana spoke as the three girls made their way to the basket and Paige, who continued shooting.

"Wassup twin," Nika asked.

"Nothing much what 'bout you," Paige finally shifted her focus onto the brunette, whose hair was slicked perfectly in a ponytail.

"Nothing really only getting concussed by LJ,"Nika said, side eyeing Lana jokingly.

"We should hang out after practice," Azzi announced from standing beside Lana.

"OH MY GOD YES," Nika's voice rising.

It was safe to say that Lana and Paige had survived friends with benefits. Sure, Lana had faced some internal struggles throughout the process, but overall, Lana would say it was a good experience. Better than all the heartbreak she had experienced in the past. The adrenaline, the hiding, the rush. To Lana, it was all worth it.

Later that night, the Uconn women's basketball team gathered at the local chik fila.

"Hey Car, what's going on with you and that Louie guy from the football team?" Aaliyah questioned, taking a bite of her chicken sandwich while wiggling her eyebrows in a knowing way.

"What are you talking about?" Caroline responded, her cheeks turning visibly red.

"I mean, the way he was talking to you after our game against 'cuse. "Oh Caroline, you played really well," Aubrey added in a moaning tone practically gripping onto Caroline's shoulders.

"Oh my god, Aubrey, your so loud," Paige laughed.

"Wait, hey Paige, spot light on you; what's going on with you and McKenna?" Caroline jumped mostly because this was a great way to divert the conversation.

"P called it off with her like weeks ago," Azzi responded as it were common knowledge, taking a sip of her soda and looking up to see 10 pairs of shocked eyes on her. "Oh, whoops," Azzi mumbled in realization.

"Yeah, no, it wasn't a big deal. We both agreed on seeing other people before the relationship, but I guess she took it far with this one guy, so we decided to just stay friends," Paige said calmly and unfazed. But Lana didn't miss the way Paige's eyes met hers, only for a second.

Her expression faltered for a instant, wondering why Paige hadn't mentioned the fact that she and Mckenna had been over for several weeks during their conversation earlier that day.

Lana was tempted to confront Paige but decided to set her confusion aside.

"Are you deadass P?" Aubrey asked, taking a bite of her fries.

And with a slight nod of the head from Paige, Nika begins shaking her head in disbelief, "Wow, twin I can't believe you didn't even tell me." Earning a laugh from Paige.

"Hey wait, Caroline you just distracted us; explain what is going on with you and Mr. Football." Aubrey slammed her hands on the table, catching everyone's attention.

"Ugh... Nothing really; he is just in my economics class, and we were partnered for this project, and we went to this cafe and we started talking.." Caroline let out in one rushed breath.

"Oh my god, thats so cute." Lana couldn't help but gush over the cute love story that was forming.

"I know right, then he got me the prettiest bouquet with tulips." Caroline spoke like a school girl crushing over a popular jock.

The night ended short, not because listening to Caroline and her relationship drama wasn't fun but merely due to the fact that they had an early Saturday practice the next morning.
