A Performance to Remember

"Good morning, darling!" Adam greeted her with a kiss, his voice as cheerful as ever. "Look at you, positively glowing!"

"Morning, boys," the pregnant woman replied, hugging Azza before sinking into a plush chair with a sigh.

The other girls arrived shortly after, their arrival marked by Jade's dramatic entrance.

"I'm not saying I need tea immediately," she announced, "but if someone doesn't hand me some Westminster in the next five minutes, I might die."

"Priorities, Jeed," Leigh-Anne teased, rolling her eyes as she took a seat beside Jesy.

As the girls settled in, Adam and Azza wasted no time getting to work. Despite the calm professionalism of their team, the girls couldn't help but feel the weight of the day—the Summertime Ball was one of their biggest events of this year.

Jesy watched as Perrie's hair was transformed into soft waves while Leigh-Anne's natural curls were styled into a voluminous crown.

Jade, always the perfectionist, gave Adam very specific instructions on the shimmer she wanted for her eye makeup, earning a playful eye-roll from the stylist.

"Alright, ladies," Azza announced as he curled Perrie's hair. "You're going to be the most stunning act of the day, as usual. But Jesy—" He turned to her with a teasing grin. "You might just steal the show by sitting here looking fabulous."

Jesy laughed, shaking her head. "I'll leave the stealing to them."

Suddenly, a knock at the door interrupted the conversation. Sam stepped forward to answer, and as she opened the door, a chorus of familiar voices rang out.

"Surprise!"

Jesy's jaw dropped as their mums streamed into the dressing room. Her mum, Janis, led the way, Perrie's mum Debbie, her cousin Ellie, Jade's mum Norma, and Leigh-Anne's mum Deborah.

"Surprise!" Norma's warm voice rang out, and the room lit up with delighted laughter.

"Mam!" Jade exclaimed, rushing to hug her mum tightly. "What are you lot doing here?"

"Sam worked 'er magic," Norma replied with a grin, glancing toward Sam, who was standing in the doorway, clipboard in hand. "Thought we'd surprise ya before the show."

"Mammy!" Perrie beamed, practically throwing herself into her mum's arms. "And Ellie! Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"And ruin the surprise?" Ellie teased, grinning. "I wouldn't dream of it."

Leigh-Anne wrapped her arms around Deborah. "Mum! I didn't think you could make it."

"Of course I made it," Deborah replied, her tone soft but firm. "Wouldn't miss this for the world."

Norma turned to Jesy with a kind smile. "And how are you holding up, love? You look radiant."

Jesy's cheeks warmed under the woman's gaze. "I'm alright. Bit tired, but excited. It's been a whirlwind."

"Well, you're doing brilliantly," Norma reassured her. "We're all so proud of you."

Deborah nodded, her expression softening as she reached into her bag. "I've been dying to give you this, Jesy." She pulled out a small gift bag and handed it to her.

Inside was a tiny onesie with 'Future Popstar' printed in glittery letters. Jesy's eyes welled up as she held it up for the others to see.

"Oh, that's adorable!" Ellie exclaimed, leaning closer to admire it.

Jesy hugged Deborah tightly. "Thank you. That's so sweet. And don't worry about missing the baby shower—I know you were with me in spirit."

"Still gutted I couldn't be there," Deborah admitted, "but I'll make up for it when this little one arrives."
