The past weeks had been a whirlwind of progress for Jesy. After months of adapting to her pregnancy and managing her recovery, she was finally beginning to feel more like herself again—though her body constantly reminded her to take things slow.
One of the biggest milestones? Jesy had finally been allowed to move back into her own bedroom upstairs.
Despite her protests that she was more than ready weeks ago, the girls had put their collective foot down, insisting she stay on the pull-out couch in the living room until they were certain she could handle the stairs.
When they finally relented, they took the guest room adjacent to hers so they could still be nearby, just in case she needed them.
Jesy appreciated their protective streak, even if she teased them endlessly for treating her like she was made of glass.
Having her bedroom back meant the world—a place where she could breathe and reconnect with herself amidst the chaos.
Still, having her girls around had been a blessing she didn't take for granted. Whether it was Jade bringing her endless cups of tea and biscuits, Leigh-Anne fluffing every pillow she sat against, or Perrie gently scolding her to "slow down," they'd made sure she never felt alone.
Physically, Jesy had made great strides. She could walk and climb stairs again without help, though she got winded if she pushed herself too much.
Standing for long periods still made her back ache, and the persistent swelling in her feet meant she lived in fuzzy socks or the comfiest sandals she could find.
The pregnancy was in its 30th week now, and her belly had grown so much she could barely see her feet anymore. It made getting around a little trickier, especially with her center of gravity constantly shifting.
Sleeping had become trickier as her bump prevented her from turning around, and her cravings had taken a turn for the absurd—last week, she'd woken up craving pineapple pizza with chocolate chips, which the girls quickly sourced for her without hesitation.
She hadn't complained, though. Every discomfort, every twinge, was worth it for the tiny life growing inside her.
The girls took every opportunity to fuss over her, insisting she take breaks and let them do all the heavy lifting—literally and figuratively.
Braxton Hicks contractions, which had started appearing recently, had caused one of the scariest moments for the girls yet.
The first time Jesy had felt one, she panicked, clutching her bump and wincing slightly. Leigh-Anne immediately noticed something was wrong, and within minutes, all three girls were rushing Jesy to the emergency room.
Jesy was pale and quiet the entire ride, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios. Perrie stayed glued to her side, holding her hand and murmuring reassurances, even as tears glistened in her blue eyes.
When they arrived, a kind nurse quickly brought them to a room, and the doctor confirmed what they hadn't dared hope: everything was fine. The contractions were completely normal and just her body practicing for labor.
"You scared us half to death," Jade said afterward, her voice shaking with relief.
"Join the club," Jesy replied weakly, still clutching Perrie's hand. "I thought something was wrong too."
