As I entered the room to change, I realised that I was wrong at my end.
I should have spoken to Harsh and at least checked if he is fine.
He was at my home giving company to kiara.
I drank a glass of water kept in my room as I was still breathing heavily.
With the dress still on and heavy breathing, I go out.
Harsh was sitting on the couch with his mouth open as Aarav was standing in front of him with a torch in his hand, checking his mouth.
"It's irritated, throat is infected." Aarav says, putting the torch down while he scratches his head.
"How is your patient doing?" He asks to visible tired Harsh.
Why does he want to know about his patient.
"Same condition. Not much improvement." Harsh replies.
"Let him take a 'khada.' He will feel good soon. Please wait,I will prepare immediately." I say to both of them.
"Thanks, Anika, for your nice gesture. But i don't need that khada as i need to recover immediately." Harsh says politely.
"Anika, first focus on your breathing. You are still not on your calm level." Aarav says as he comes near me and holds my wrist, and focuses on his watch.
"Bye guys, thanks for the dinner, kiara. Bye, Anika, feel well soon. You are looking beautiful today. " Harsh leaves smiling.
Aarav was still taking my pulse, making me stand silently.
Why did I come out.
"What are you upto?" I ask he was now checking my nails.
"Go take rest." Aarav says, as he lets go of my hand.
Kiara
Anika quickly ran to her room as Aarav let her go.
But Aarav was still standing.
"Kiara, I have to talk to you about Anika. Please come to our home without letting her know. Remember she shouldn't know that you came to my house to talk about her."
"Ok, fyn. I will come in 10 mins."
"Good." After which, he left.
Harsh
I was sitting on the couch with our common medical kit waiting for Aarav to return.
"Harsh, I want to listen first." Aarav says, sitting near me while taking out the stethoscope.
"Of course, as you say." I say sitting straight up.
"Under your t-shirt,Harsh." Aarav says and puts the endpiece of the stethoscope on the bareskin of my chest.
He spent a full 2 mins listening to my chest and back before deciding my medication.
"Harsh, it's not that bad to give you a shot for the throat infection, but if you need to go check your patient, then I suggest you to take it."
"Give the shot. I have to go and check on her. "
Aarav immediately stood up to collect the syringe and vial.
"Aarav, you called me." Kiara says while coming in.
Didn't he lock the gate after coming in.
"Yes, kiara come in. I wanted to speak to you."
Even though Aarav was speaking. Kiara's eyes were on his hands which held the injection and syringe.
She looked at me too and ofcourse the stethoscope and other items kept near me.
She must have understood that Aarav was gonna me an injection.
"Kiara, get up before Anika tomorrow. I want to get her blood checked for which I will take her blood sample empty stomach, while she is still sleeping. Call me once you wake up. Let me in and then I will take the blood sample. God, she was breathing so heavily after taking stairs." Aarav says while preparing my shot.
"Ya.. Ya.. " She replied.
Her eyes were on Aarav's hands as he was filling the medicine in the injection.
"Did you listen what he said. Take your eyes off the syringe." I asked shifting her focus.
"Yes, I listened. Aarav i will call you after getting up and let you in. Around 8 Ok."
"Good. She understood." Aarav says as he comes near me.
He wants me to take my position. But kiara was still standing.
"Harsh, ready." Aarav says expelling the medicine out.
Kiara saw this too.
How can I lie down in front of her.
"Kiara, please excuse us. Do you want to see further?"
"Absolutely, not. Bye." Kiara stormed out but closed the gate before leaving.
I quickly laid down on the couch without delay.
"Ready?" Aarav asks softly tapping on my hip.
"Yes."
He pulled my shorts and wiped the spot.
"Harsh, have patience. It's gonna hurt." He says and inserts the needle.
"Aaahh" I said, feeling a sharp pain.
"It's okay, Harsh, keep loose." He says as he starts injecting.
It was just a few uncomfortable moments. I tried hard not to move.
"Well done, Harsh. Just a little remaining."
So I did the same. Waited for the injection to get over.
It was painful but bearable, I didn't feel like it was burning.
Soon it was over and Aarav was rubbing the spot gently.
I took the cotton from him and rubbed it myself for a while before discarding it off.
"Aarav, go sleep. I will go to the hospital after 2-3 hours. "
"Wish you good luck for the patient. Hope she gets fine soon."
"Yes, poor girl."
"I never saw a doctor taking an injection so that his patient can get better. Hats off to you."
"You would have done the same thing."
"Now I have to tackle Anika tomorrow. She is definitely difficult. "
"Why do you want to take her blood?"
"She got breathless while taking stairs, losing balance while taking them, had tingling sensation in her hands after we reached, high pulse, dry nails and whatnot."
"Looks like B12 deficiency."
"Definitely, I just want to know how much. Shouldn't have very low levels."
"All the best." I wished him good luck as we head to our rooms.
