My home has always been the shadows, protecting me, hiding me from the world. I do not understand what Mother is trying to hide me from- and maybe I never will.
They wear white masks, their faces barley seen. Their cloaks, large and warm, hiding their bodies from the sun. The glass vials they wear around their necks, clinking in silence.
These are the ones who took me in, raised me, when no one else would.
Mysterious beings that are tied to me emotionally, their cold white hands wrapped around the strings of my soul. They whisper stories of their home country, how they were ripped away and cruelly mutated. They're angry, and they are looking for answers.
I am their pawn in this war, I am bound to them for they are the only family I have ever known.
I cannot afford to disappoint them again.
