Chapter 25

Kelly and Zack were sitting in the library at lunch, Kelly was working on some homework while Zack sat beside her relaxing in his seat.

Kelly looked at the question written in her book, trying to pluck the answer from her head but she just came up empty. Slamming her pen on the table she groaned in annoyance, “Why can't I do this?” she cried hitting her head with her hand.

“Well damaging your brain isn't going to help you” Zack laughed looking over at her book, “It's B” he added after reading the question,

“What? How do you know that?” she asked shocked reading the question again,

“I told you I'm not just good looks” he chuckled, “If you don't believe me look it up” Zack challenged getting up and walking into the second isle of books,

“What are you doing?” Kelly asked getting annoyed when he didn't answer her,

“Here. Page 48” Zack informed dropping a text book on the desk in front of her. Kelly slowly opened the book to the page Zack had told her to scanning the information, then gazed back at him in shock.

“How? When? What?” Kelly stuttered, “but … your not even in this class” she added still confused,

“I told you it was B” Zack simply said sitting back on his seat,

“You must have cheated or something, this is imposable” Kelly said still trying to understand how Zack had known the answer.

“Why? Because I knew the answer. I'm hurt Kelly, did you think I was stupid?” Zack asked and Kelly bit her lip in embarrassment,

“No, you just never pay attention in class” she explained,

“I listen in class, just not to the boring parts” Zack said causing Kelly to shake her head,

“But your in all the lowest sets?” Kelly added,

“because I ask to be put in those sets, if you look at my grades you will see that I am just as smart as you. I just learn better by reading and finding the information in a book” he said pointing to the book on the table,

“Oh” Kelly said stunned, “But why would you ask to be in the lower sets?” she asked quietly,

“It is easier to mess about in those classes” he explained with a shrug.

“Oh” Kelly repeated still shocked causing Zack to burst into laughter,

“Your face is priceless right now” he giggled earning a slap from Kelly,

“Alright then smarty-pants, can you help me with this work?” she asked sheepishly motioning to her book,

“I bet that was something you never thought you would say to me” he pointed out moving closer to the desk so he could read the questions,

“Well it is kind of your fault that I don't know the answers” Kelly argued and Zack gave her a questioning look, “You and Tray made me miss Monday’s lesson, this is what we learned on Monday” she explained pointing to the work,

“Oh well in that case your superman will be happy to help you” Zack said and they spent the rest of lunch working on Kelly's homework.

Back at the worrier house Tray had finally joined Jenny, Rachel and Adam in the training room, They had been practising when he had entered and he had informed them that it was Rachel’s turn to train. Rachel had bravely nodded and walked into the training room with Tray. Adam had caused the floor of the training room to be covered in grass like before.

“With your element you can heal minor injuries as you already know. We have also worked on controlling your element” Tray began, “So lets begin with creating a vine” he suggested and Rachel nodded taking a deep breath, unlocking the doors that she had built to hold her element at bay. Feeling her element she quickly caused the grass to grow producing a thick green vine to rise from the floor.

“Very good, now you can use this vine to attack and defend yourself, Let's try to hit the target.” he said and Adam made one of the targets slide up from the floor, Rachel raised her arm and commanded the vine to attack the target. The Vine rushed across the floor and crashed into the wooden target crushing it into pieces, “Very good” Tray said watching Rachel closely as she forced her element back behind the walls she rebuilt to block it. “I think that will be enough for today,” Tray said seeing that Rachel was worn out.

“Wow that was quick” Jenny commented from the control room.

Zack cheered as the bell rang signalling the end of school and quickly ran out of the class to find Kelly, she was talking to the teacher when Zack arrived at her classroom.

“Come on Kelly” he groaned wanting to escape,

“Zack!” Max called running up to him, “I have been trying to find you all day. I can't get out of practice today can you tell Jenny and Tray that I'm sorry and promise to be there tomorrow” he quickly said looking around nervously,

“Yeah sure,” Zack agreed as Kelly walked out of the class,

“Hi Max,” She greeted,

“Hi, sorry I have to go” he quickly said seeing his dad walking down the corridor,

“Max!” he shouted,

“Coming” Max called, “Don't forget to tell Jenny that I'm sorry” he said once again before scurrying off to his dad who started to shout at him in the middle of the corridor.

Kelly and Zack walked into the warrior house ten minuets later to see Jenny, Adam and Rachel playing rock, paper, scissors,

“Oh I love Rock, Paper, scissors” Zack cried running to join in the game excitedly.

“Kelly,” Tray greeted as he entered the room, “How was your day?” he asked,

“Normal, How about you guys did training go well?” she asked aiming the question at Jenny, Adam and Rachel who nodded in reply still concentrating on their game.

“So I guess I'm the only one who hasn't trained yet” she said placing her bag on the sofa, “Well then let's get to it” she said turning to leave the room,

“Are you sure, You have just got back” Tray asked,

“I want to get it over and done with, so let's go!” she snapped getting annoyed.

Ok so what did you think? this chapter was mainly about Kelly and Zack. So Zack is actually smart :) did you find it funny how Kelly was so shocked? what about the training session with Rachel? she got tired really fast :o do you think she has mastered her gift or not? Max is still missing training because of football :( but at least he is talking to Zack and the rest of the group :)
