~Sokeefe Forever (Part 2)~

~Chapter Eighteen~

"Are you really my sister?" I asked quietly.

"Yeah. Mom had us as twins and she took me separately away from you because... Well, her legacy for your life meant you would be an only child. When I wanted to rebel from my mom, they kidnapped me and Sophie." She glanced at Sophie in my arms as we ran across the street and ducked into an alleyway. "I think we're in Paris."

I glanced back at the Eiffel Tower. "Yep."

I laid Sophie on the ground and put her head in my lap so she had something soft to lay on. Just as I did, her eyelids fluttered and opened slowly.

She giggled, a sound I hadn't heard before. "Hi, Keefe." She had a flirty tone, and my cheeks flushed pink.

"Is she always like this?" Kira asked.

"No... I think they gave her a truth serum." I mumbled as Sophie reached up and tried to touch my hair.

"Pretty..." She cooed. Then she laughed at her own joke.

"Are you feeling okay?" I asked.

"Great, now that you're here, handsome." She giggled again as she squished my cheeks like a grandma would.

"Is she your girlfriend?" Kira asked.

I blushed like a tomato. "No... But I might have a mini crush on her."

"Me too!" Sophie squealed. "I have a crush on me too!"

Kira snickered as I shifted Sophie so she could sit up. "Do you remember anything?"

"Just the feeling of your lips." She giggled as I blushed even harder.

"Dang, you didn't know she likes you?" Kira asked. I shook my head.

"I thought..." My voice trailed off when Sophie leaned on my shoulder.

"You smell nice. Like salt air and something citrusy. I like it." She whispered.

"You really mean that?" I asked softly. She smiled, but her face looked genuine.

"Yeah. I love you." She said matter of factly. "But I'm too afraid of what's gonna happen next."

"You don't have to be. Because I love you, too." I whispered.

Kira squealed, interrupting the moment.

"You would get along with Ro SO well. Speaking of Ro, she's gonna kill me when I get back, so we might have to be sneaky."

"Yeah, you suck at being sneaky." Ro replied, appearing in the alleyway.

I groaned and Sophie giggled. "Ro's gonna kill you!"

I gave her a playful glare and she smirked.

"What's up with Blondie?"  Ro asked.

"Truth serum." Me and Kira said in unison.

"And who's this?" Ro pressed.

"Kira. She's my long lost twin sister." I said.

Ro's eyebrows raised. "Okay. Not gonna question it." Ro walked over to Sophie.

"Would you marry Keefe if you could?" Ro asked. Sophie snorted.

"In a heartbeat." She replied.

Our eyes met and we both blushed as she giggled. "Definitely gonna use that as blackmail." Ro decided.

"Come on, let's go." Kira said.

"Where are you going? I have a home crystal." I said, pulling it out of my pocket.

"Oh. Right. Sorry."

We all stepped into the light and leaped to Havenfield, where we found Grady and Edaline and Elwin standing at the front door. Grady's expression changed from murderous to relieved when he saw me help Sophie walk, since she couldn't see straight from the serum.

"She's on a truth serum." I told them.

"Thank you." Grady whispered as he hugged me. I was speechless until Elwin murmured, "Something's wrong."

"What is it?" Edaline asked.

"Sophie's cells aren't on a truth serum." Elwin replied.

My eyes widened. "So..." My eyes met Sophie's, and she looked guilty but gave me a smile and a wink.

"Oh. Then, I must've been wrong." I whispered. I wasn't going to tell the adults what she had said to me.

Because maybe this was my time to shine.

*Hope that was interesting! I appreciate you guys so so so so much for being patient. I've been on vacation and doing school stuff so it's been hard to find a good time to post but I hope this was slay!
