Steve wasn't disheartened by the rejection of his confession. Instead, he became even more determined in his pursuit of Nova, making his efforts more visible than ever before.

Every morning, without fail, Nova would arrive at the office to find a fresh bouquet of flowers waiting for her on her desk. The flowers varied from day to day—sometimes roses, sometimes lilies, but always something beautiful and vibrant. Accompanying each bouquet was a small, handwritten card from Steve:

"May your every day be as beautiful as these flowers. — Steve"

Nova would take the card, slip it into her drawer, and mentally prepare herself to start the day.

One morning, the bouquet was a particularly striking arrangement of tulips, their bright colors drawing the attention of her colleagues. The office buzzed with whispers.

"Another bouquet! Steve is really putting in the effort!" Isabella commented enviously.

"Yes, today is the 28th, and this should be the 25th bouquet. One bouquet a day—Steve is truly persistent. His persistence is impressive. If someone pursued me like that, I'd definitely be with him by now," Ellie observed.

With work being relatively quiet today, Emma decided to drop by and chat with Nova. Emma was the first person Nova had met at the company after her memory loss, aside from Steve. Emma had been a great help to Nova when she first started, and Emma had quickly become a close friend. Emma often confided in Nova about her worries and concerns.

"Steve is young, successful, handsome, and undeniably romantic. I doubt there's a woman in the world who could resist his charms. It genuinely surprises me that you remain indifferent to him," Emma said.

"I'm not the exception." Perhaps because she had kept her secret bottled up for too long, Nova felt compelled to open up to Emma. "Emma, the truth is, I know nothing about my past. My memories are a blank slate."

Nova recounted how she had met Steve and shared details about her amnesia. Emma's eyes widened in shock. "This can't be real. Are you serious? It sounds like something out of a soap opera, not real life."

"I'm telling the truth. How could I not develop feelings for such an outstanding man like Steve when I'm with him every day? I'm just scared. I don't know what my past was like. I'm afraid that if I get together with Steve and regain my memory, I might discover that I had a boyfriend or even a husband in the past. I'm afraid of causing harm, so I don't dare to make any changes."

"But you've already caused harm. You've disappointed Steve, who admires you so much. He's been desperately pursuing you, and you haven't responded. More importantly, you clearly have feelings for him but are too scared to accept them. You've shut off your own heart," Emma pointed out sharply.

"Have you consulted a doctor about your amnesia? What did they say?" Emma inquired.

"I had a thorough examination. The doctor found no signs of head trauma. They mentioned that I might regain my memory one day or I might never recover it," Nova explained.

"Do you have any indications that your memory might return?" Emma asked.

Nova shook her head.

"If you never regain your memory, are you going to live like this forever? Will you remain single for years, even decades, waiting for a partner from your past who you might never find?"

Emma's probing left Nova in contemplative silence.

"You only live once. Your youth and your prime years come only once. Are you sure you want to waste them? If I were in your shoes, I would choose to be with Steve," Emma urged, her voice filled with conviction.
