Stuck In Between

Chapter Two

The butler noticed how little of a reaction the florist had. Does she not like it? Why isn't she impressed? She nodded her head in acknowledgment on how lavish the Royal family has been living. She was jealous for a moment but the memory of her parents flushed through her mind, making her jealously be washed away. 

"It's beautiful." She told the butler.

Syvis sighed in relief, "That's a relief. The King and Queen would like you to be in the throne room within the next hour. Please don't be late."

With that, the doors closed behind him as he exited her temporary room. Y/n walked over to the bed and placed her bag on it. She opened it and grabbed the letter she had received before coming here. A letter she didn't think she would have gotten since the "accident." She walked over to the fireplace with the letter in her hands. She kneeled in front of the fire place and unfolded the letter. She read it.

After reading the letter, all she could feel was disgust and rage. She quickly lit the letter on fire by her mind and placed it in the fireplace. She destroyed the evidence of that letter ever being sent to her. What was addressed in that letter made her skin crawl. She couldn't believe that those type of people exist. The content in the letter flooded her mind, making her want to get the job done already but she has to wait until it's the day of the Princess's birthday ball. 

             Glynnii Zumris. A Middle Earth Elf Countess who has enslaved and sexually assaulted many children and has gotten away with it because she has money. Once the children were of adult age, she would have them killed so they don't tell anyone what had happened to them.
           She is married to Count Adric Zumris, who had no idea of what his wife was doing until three weeks ago. He was the one to hire Phantom and Striker to kill his wife. Striker will help Phantom by causing a commotion so Phantom can strike and eradicate the target. 

                              The reward for killing the Countess is 20 gold coins. 

Y/n sighed as she was addressed as her previous job's codename. She really didn't want to be back in that business but if innocent children are being hurt, she can't step back. She has to protect them. She has to save them. She wants to save them. They're children for christ sake. 

She stood up from watching the letter burned and turn into ash. She took the dress she was wearing off, revealing her more comfortable outfits underneath. A off-white shirt that is tucked into tan pants that is being held up with a brown belt along with brown boots that are the same shade as the belt. 

She laid her floral dress on the bed and grabbed a comb out of her bag. She quickly combed her hair and left her it down. She found it easier to cover her ears when her hair is down. She quickly tightened the laces on her boots and walked out of her chambers. 

The servants quickly bowed  at her, making her bow in return. She didn't see the surprised expressions on the servants after she bowed. She had made her way toward the throne room as  she was told not to be late. She rolled her eyes as she remember the tone that the butler had given her when he told her not to be late. Even with the word 'Please' at the beginning, it didn't make it seem it was asked nicely. 

Once she entered the throne room, she noticed that the servants are lined up alongside the carpet that is from the front doors up to the silver thrones that is elevated up by a couple feet or so. You would have to walk up stairs to get to the four thrones. 

She walked over to a pillar that is one of the support systems of keeping this castle standing and leaned against it with her arms crossed as she saw the whole Royal Family sitting on their thrones. She was in the shadows while the servants and Royal Family are in the light.
