╰➢ Chapter 2, let's go!

Y/n let go the breath she was holding as she stared at the castle with awe being expressed on her face. She wanted to take in every second but the guards were rushing her toward the building. She didn't like how rude they were but complied and walked in front of them toward the front double doors that are carved from dark oak wood. They were gigantic as well.

She decided to stay at the castle before and a little after the Princess's birthday ball. She has her shop closed on some days and the other days, she trusted Kin to take care of it. She also never went back to the river because she wasn't sure if the High Elf that she encountered, would be there. If he was, she didn't want to know what he would have wanted from her or he would have brought people with him to get her killed or hurt for payback.

She walked through the double oak doors that opened to the gigantic throne room. She watched both female and male servants scurry around the throne room with multiple items in their hands. They looked to be in a panic. 

The guards pushed Y/n forward to make her keep walking. She just glared at them before turning her attention back to the servants. Eventually, her eyes landed on the four silver thrones that had been cushioned with a dark blue silk padding. The silver was engraved into a vine line pattern with some petals here and there. Y/n smiled at it, appreciating the design and beauty of it.

"Ms. L/n?"

Y/n quickly turned her attention to the person who called her out in a formal way. It was a older male elf with hi hair combed back. He had some grays streaks of hair here and there. His suit was neat and tidy. Nothing was out of place or even had the slightest speck of dirt on it. He had a smile on his face. Y/n immediately noticed it was a forced smile.

"Yes?"

"I'm Syvis, personal Butler of the King and Queen. I will be the one escorting you to your chambers."

"My chambers?"

"Yes," He shooed the guards away with one motion of his hand, "The King and Queen prepared a room for you to stay in."

"What makes them think that I would be staying?" The butler was trying to study her face but it was emotionless, "What if I'm here to turn their invitation down?"

The butler was worried and surprised by the tone of your voice. No one has ever turned his King and Queen's invitation to anything. He was worried to how they would react to the news. Y/n forced a smile and patted the butler's back, "I'm joking. I would gladly stay here. How could I turn down an invitation from the King and Queen?"

It was another joke but the butler didn't catch on. He was relieved and quickly made showed Y/n the way to her chambers. The grip on her bag she was carrying in her hands, tightened. She dropped her faked smiled as soon as the butler's back faced her. She followed the butler while keeping her guard up. She paid attention to where they were going as well. She didn't want to get lost if she explored the castle on her own.

After a bit, the butler stopped in front a pair of double doors that was engraved with floral patterns on it. The doors was made out of wood from a walnut tree. It was pretty. The two servants at the doors opened the doors and the butler motioned for her to walk in. She walked into the room, which is suppose to be her chambers for her stay here, was in awe with how huge and luxurious it was but she kept a poker face.
