Chapter eight; Happy fourth!

"Conrad?" He looked at me

I nodded "It's just I feel like I couldn't get with someone while I still had feelings for him"

"I get it he's a catch" Cam kinda laughed "I mean all the girls drool over him and Jeremiah when they are here"

"Yeah that's true" I sighed "Can we still be friends please?"

"Of course we can August, you are like my best friend" He smiled

Present time

I smiled to myself then put everything away then came down and to the kitchen "Hey welcome back birthday girl" Jere said and tapped my seat with my food ready, it was a waffle with whipped cream and raspberries and chocolate chips on it stacked like a three layer cake with two red and white stripped candles that made the number seventeen, we then lit them but the room felt a bit empty without Conrad the only one who would sing without the cha cha chas for me because he secretly knew I hated them but knew Belly loved them so I let them add it but now there where no cha cha chas I guess I am
too old for that, I blew out the candles after the song my wish, was Conrad just like it was every year but this time it felt more desperate then any of the other years, I put on a smile

"Let's go to the festivities shall we?" Susannah said and so we did, Susannah let me know that Mr.Fisher wasn't coming, I found that weird but didn't mind too much, we all where out at the beach and I decided I wanted to make pomegranate margaritas

"You guys want margaritas?" I asked

Everyone nodded

"Let's go make some Bells" And so we where off, then we saw Mr.Conklin's new girlfriend and she was younger so she taught us to make pomegranate margaritas and they where yummy and so we made some more, Belly was hammering them down which was shocking because honestly I don't see her drink that much and all the debs where here so I guess that's why, I personally was already pretty tipsy, I then went off by myself with my towel Conrad watched me as I moved a bit away but then Cam came up to me

"Hey" He said sitting next to me

"Hi, I loved your gift I cannot believe you bought it" I smiled

"Well you know" He said looking at me "Belly still hasn't asked me"

"I don't understand why" I rolled my eyes

"I do" He sighed out "I think I'm gonna break up with her"

"Wait what?" I said confused

"Conrad" He sighed

"What?" I looked at him "She's totally over him" I then looked over at her and Conrad wasn't even there anymore, I searched for him and found him then looked back at Belly she was staring at him, he was walking to the showers

"You see" Cam sighed

"You can take me to the deb as friends of course" I smiled

He looked at me "Yeah right" He shook his head "I don't wanna end up like Steven"

"You won't" I rolled my eyes and took my last sip of my margarita "I'm gonna go get a refill" I said getting up "Consider going with me please I really wanna go" then walked over to where the pitcher is while walking kinda wobbly already and filled both me and Conrad's glass then went over to the showers and practically chugged them both and now I am definitely drunk, I almost tripped as I walked over
