I live in a world, that differs from yours, a fantasy world, where your dreams come true and werewolves scowl in the frigid cold at the lack of drunken men or scuttling rats with no place to stay which means for them, no dinner.

In my village, separated by a towering barrier that stretches for miles through the lush green woods; protecting us from those wild beasts, the vampires smile at the helpless traveling men trying to find their way home, which means for them, a feast.

My name is Lauren Medows, I am the the queen of my land and, not by choice. My mother died during my birth and, left me with a plethora of overwhelming responsibilities all on top of having to do it all without her. My mother also happened to be a direct descendant of Mother Nature herself, meaning I can tweak the weather here and there but nothing too serious. It attracts a lot of
people with ill intentions into my life which is just another element to my isolation.

I run away a lot, as much as I can to be truthful. My excuse is; I was never given a choice in this matter and, some would consider it a blessing but, I can't stand to live with all of this pressure on me, to run an entire village and not even really know who you are yet.
My nick name between the maids is "the Runaway Brat", they would never understand why I runaway or why I wouldn't love to be a royal, as they've said before.

I have a crush or two, being twenty and, stuffed up in a this place I don't get to meet anyone, or hone my conversational skills. Plus they all feel that I'm unapproachable because of my social status.
There is one person though, who sees me for me, or rather who I want to let myself become deep down.
Max, a hybrid, a rarity amongst this side of town, "You made it rain" His voice broke me from a day dream, I walked toward him, sitting on my window sill.
"I still don't understand how you manage to climb that wall, my guards can't even do that" I reached for his hand while he scanned my body, eyes low and suggestive.
He's a mix of vampire and werewolf, his mom a vampire, his dad a werewolf.
Our attraction to each other is not the most acceptable situation, being that it's a bit taboo in our society for a hybrid to breed with a royal bloodline, so as to ruin its purity. It is preferable that I'd date someone from another royal family.
Of course here I find myself under a heat spell, and biting my lips at this 'hybrid boy', the definition of temptation at its finest.

His parents and my Father do get along with each other so long as no one in either of our families find out about the attraction to each other that we were so horribly failing at fighting every moment we found ourselves in the same room.
There more than likely be a riot, or something would go wrong between the wolves and the vampire species. Being that it is hypocritical of the ruling families to have a separation of territories and regulations, then turn to around and 'shamefully' intermingle amongst ourselves.

Max brushed some hair out behind my ear, touching him teasingly through his soaking shirt I met his gaze, "You should get changed so you don't lead a track of water in my room."
Heat flushed to my cheeks as he peeled his shirt over his head, muscling flexing as he stretched. "Why don't you use the terrace?" I asked Max as he kissed my forehead. "I've missed you, love" He spoke quietly ignoring my question "I know, I missed you too" I acknowledged.

His blue eyes flickered around the room. "Someone's here?" I whispered "I don't know yet, wait." He hushed me when suddenly, we both cringed at the heavy foot steps approaching my door. Slipping smoothly into the closet closing it just as Mariem, my maid opened my door toting a small food cart, "Lauren? are you decent?" The maid assured before fully walking in, I laughed, "Yes, Mariem come in" I answered.
"Your lunch is ready, I would suggest you eat outside, but... it's raining." She explained timidly,
"Mar, you want me to make the rain stop? You know I don't like doing that, it's just messing with nature" I replied.
"Oh, but you don't just control nature, you are nature, right? Please, my daughters wedding it's today, if you could make it stop after my shift is over that'd be great, please, Lauren" She begged opening my terrace doors to the deep gray skies.

I looked at the floor to contemplate when I spotted Max's shirt next to the glass door, I ran over to the shirt and kicked it under my bed. "Fine!" I agreed hurriedly walking to the balcony.
Looking over I could see the poor people begged for riches below me, I turned to Mariem and, told her to tell the chefs to make food for them, but not before clearing the weather up with a few minutes of intense concentration. I went back into my room and shooed my maid out of my room "Mariem, please leave, I need to rest." She thanked me profusely before walking out.
Taking a moment to breathe I locked the door and, threw myself onto my bed

"Max, you can come out now" I said, sitting up on my elbows.
"I can't stay for long, it's a full moon tonight, I don't want to hurt you I don't-"
I cut him off "It's fine, I just wish you could trust yourself around me like I trust you, when you're like that, it's not a bad thing, it's kind of hot, I like it" I comforted him with a smirk, he smiled back in reaction, looking at me like prey already. "Max, can we sneak out tonight?" I asked suddenly.
He looked at me for a long moment then spoke, "Fine, but if you get scared you have to run from me, no matter what... no being brave." He chastised, "Fine." I agreed begrudgingly while getting more appropriately dressed for an adventure.

His eyes kept flicking towards me slowly but surely turning to a golden flecked gray while the night gradually turned colder and darker. We'd walked to a cliff just two miles from the territory line.
"Remember you'll know it's me because I won't charge at you and, I have the eye color of the hybrid royals, gold and light gray" He explained.
I nodded in agreement, slight nervousness tickled in the pit of my stomach, as he jogged away from the cliffs bare terrain and into the the dark thick brush of the forest.
Some time later a wolf, a beautiful creature, abnormally large in size with the same hair color as Max emerged from the woods.
I laid my small hand on his strong head, he whimpered. I could feel that he wanted to speak. I climbed on a boulder. "Max you're beautiful" I whispered "You think look so big and, bad but when I look into your eyes I can feel and, hear your gentle heart, what were you so afraid of all this time?" I added giggling.
He rested his large head in my hands with an exasperated sigh closing his eyes soon after I cuddled up to him and followed with a sigh as well.
