Episode 8: Threat

After the events of last night, we see the sun slowly starting to rise as daybreak arrives. Down on a small street, a man could be seen taking an early morning run. As the man runs down the street, something watches him from the shadows, and as the man stops to catch his breath, a tentacle wraps around his legs, bringing him down to the ground with a thud. As the man panics seeing the thing wrapped around his legs, the tentacle drags him into an alleyway as he lets out screams of terror, horror, and eventually pain. Soon, the man's screams slowly quiet down, and once everything is quiet, a man wearing tattered clothes exits the alley while adjusting beads on a bracelet.

The man laughs as he walks away as La-Balva-De and Xu-Goma-Gu is seen observing from a distance as they walk away, with Xu-Goma-Gu making an upset scowl.

(Three Hours later)

The scene changes to a cafe where Hiwa is seen sitting at a table looking at his phone, as if he's waiting for someone. As if on cue, a woman approaches Hiwa from behind.

Ryouko: "It's been a while, hasn't it?" She says while patting his head.

Hiwa: "I'd say." He stands up and hugs her. "Never expected you to call me? Must be important." He said sitting back down.

Ryouko: Sits across from him. "You could say that. A lot has been happening, you know, with these monsters and all. How's the life of a police man going?"

Hiwa: "It's been challenging these past few days to be honest." He said as a waiter brings them two cups of coffee.

Ryouko: "You ordered coffee?" She said as the waiter places the coffee on their table.

Hiwa: "Of course. I have to treat my cousin well, right?" He said sipping his coffee.

Ryouko: Sips her coffee. "Even though I called you out, but thanks."

The two sit there in silence for 2 minutes before Hiwa breaks the silence.

Hiwa: "So, what's the real reason you wanted to meet?" He said tracing the rim of his coffee cup.

Ryouko: Stares at Hiwa and looks down, then back up. "You caught on huh? Well...what I wanted to ask you is...what do you know about this?" She says while reaching for her phone and showing a familiar picture.

Hiwa: He stares at the picture in shock. "Kuuga?"

Ryouko: "So you know who this is?" She says putting her phone away. "Please, tell me what you know about this individual. The lives of Tengu city may be at stake."

Hiwa looks at Ryouko as if having a stare off as the camera changes to a tired Hunter sitting on a couch as Mrs. Kipling crawls next to him.

Ravi: "Tired?" He asked as Hunter nodded.

Ethan: "He's been up most of the night it looks like. I think I know what may help." He said revealing a slushy. "Hunter. Slushy~."

Hunter: Perks his head up. "Give me please." He said as Ethan hands him the slushy as he proceeds to drink. "Sweet frozen goodness." He says as sparkles pop up around his happy face.

Ethan: "So, now that you're feeling energized, why don't you tell us what happened? You must be this tired for a reason." He asked sitting in a chair next to Ravi.

Hunter: Sips the slushy again and places it on the couch's arm. "Well, there was another Gurongi last night, so I fought it."

Ravi and Ethan: "And?"

Hunter: "And...there was someone else."

Ravi: "Someone else?"

Hunter: "Yeah, she was dressed in a glowing red dress, she had these guns that froze me when she shot me, and she can vanish into the shadows. She kinda...kidnapped me last night."
