~Chapter 8~

My shot rung out through the air and my bullet went pass a few people and hitting the After-beast head-on before firing a few more rounds on it while the others followed.

"I was famous in the gaming world for a reason"

I easily shot down the the after-beast with the help of Kafka who had discovered the location of the core, I left the corpse to be dealt by the others. The Huge Kaiju had already been taken down with the help of Commander Ashiro, who took it down with ease.

I was positioned behind a debris in the middle of the street and took down a few After-beasts which surely helped with the situation that my team was in. I jumped back and avoided that strike that had almost damaged me if it weren't for my fast reaction when an After-beast had gone past the boundary that I made and got close to my spot.

"Hey, Ichikawa, you got any spare bullets with you?"

My earpiece buzzed , However, no voice came in to reply and and line seems to have been disconnected. I was in a volnurable position at the moment so I took out the pistols from my sides and shot the ones that were getting closer to my liking while backing up and avoiding a few debris.

I caught the attention of quite a few after-beasts and separating them from the main group that was after my team so I would ultimately have to deal with this group on my own and maybe some time to release my pent up stress and anger on these shits.

Occasionally, I would look over my shoulder in hopes of spotting any weapon available in the area, my eyes then landing on a sports shop nearby. After gaining distance from them, I took off with great speed to the direction of the sports building and looting a few things that looked helpful in being a weapon and putting them in a sports bag nearby and slinging it over my shoulder.

My head then pulsed and hurt, I clutched my head in pain though the feeling vanished as quick as when it had appeared and an onimous feeling lingered, However, I quickly dismissed it once the ground shook and the things atop the shelves were falling to the ground.

Coming out from the building, just in time, the after-beasts had gotten closer to where I was, However, they seemed to have grown in number and the corpse behind me was moving and forming back into its former shape. It seems just like report of the incident back at the exam, they got back to life and I was left to face them on my own.

I took this opportunity to fight them off once again. I pulled my right arm back and slung it with great force before letting go of the weight disc I was holding, watching it strike and go through its body and succesfully destroying its core.

I then dragged a medicine ball before spinning abit and gaining momentum before releasing it and killing off two after-beasts.

'Hmph, it's sports time'

I dropped the bag on the ground before taking out a few more equipment and polverizing them with a crazed look on my face. Unbeknownst to me, evident familiar red vein like structures resurfaced on my right arm and crawled up until it reached my right eye.

But, what I noticed to be different was how I seemed to feel more light and a weight seemed to have lifted from my body and I was able to easily take down multiple after-beasts on my own with my makeshift weapons.

By the time the smoke cleared, the once wrecked street filled with a few debris was now littered with tons of after-beast bodies, I huffed out as I felt the exhaustion catch up and my eyes felt heavy and my body went back to normal.

I stumbled back onto a nearby car but before my eyes closed shut, a gew voices came from near my position and hurried set of footsteps were getting nearer and then my world turned black as I passed out in the middle of the mess I created.

Soshiro Hoshina's pov

I pondered over the events that occurred today as strange things surfaced and caused heavy damage on the new recruits.

The appearance of both Kaiju no. 8 and 9 at the same place along with new signs of a new Kaiju in the area.

Luckily no one died, However, two of the new recruits were found heavily injured in the place where Kaiju no. 8 and 9 took place and Y/n was found at the source of the unknown force that surfaced.

Y/n was reported to have been found in the middle of the streets unconcious and seemed to have been caught in the center of a bloody battle against quite a lot of after-beasts, though their bodies littered the streets surrounding her and she was found with only minor injuries and her combat power doesn't seem to be enough to vanquish such a group.

The incident report that took place in the exam area then resurfaced in my thoughts and it all seemed to be all too similar, I turned back to inquire Okonogi about the unleashed combat powere of Y/n during the whole operation and investigate things about Kaijus being able to shift into human forms.
