Reader's pov

I was lucky enough to pass the first exams though it seems that luck is not enough for me to pass this exam.

We were called over into a large room filled with Defense force suits, each one of us stepped up on one of the plateforms assigned to us, startled when the suit locked up itself on my body and tightened itself to fit my figure, I let out a pained grunt as I felt it seem to become one with my body and not only that, I clenched my fists as I felt a strong overwhelming feeling inside of me.

I brought up my hands and inspected the suit, feeling quite honored to be wearing it during the exam and having an experience like this before I even passed into the Corps. The suit itself was built to adjust itself to the user and multiplies the physical strength capabilities, made from kaiju.

A voice then sounded out from the speakers surrounding us and making anouncements about the suits capabilities and loudly anouncing each of our unleashed combat power.

"Reno Ichikawa-Unleashed Combat Power: 8 percent"

Reno then raised his hand to ask a question that most of us were likely also wanting to ask,

'Thank you, Reno'

"Um, excuse me? What does 'unleashed power' mean?"

Vice-Captain Hoshina then proceeds to answer these said questions.

"It indicates how much of the suit's power your drawing out."

"In other words, I'm only capable of drawing out 8 percent of its power."

Reno seemed disappointed of himself after hearing the answer to his previous question and looking down on his self.

"HAHAHA. 8 percent's nothing to sneeze at, kid. Besides, a trained general officer only gets about 20 percent, so its-"

Just as Vice-Captain Hoshina was about to end his talk a female colleague beside him working on the computers let out a bewildered anouncement

"Wait, are you serious...?!"

"Kikoru Shinomiya, Unleashed Combat Power...46 percent!"

Others next to her had similar complexed reactions to the revelation while I was not much but was still surprised since I was not expecting her to get that much high of a number though it seems plausible for all her hard earned work.

Though, Vice-Captain Hoshina wasn't showing much of a reaction to it, deep inside he knew it himself, that girl would be in the same class as a platoon leader.

"Haruichi Izumo, 18 percent."

"Aoi Kaguragi, 15 percent."

"Iharu Furuhashi, 14 percent."

"Y/n L/n, 12 percent"

The reactions behind the glass window were of most surprise from the results, well more like Konomi Okonogi.

"Having just one person who can manage over 10 percent is good enough, but this...?!"
