I was lying out of exhaustion on the ground with my senior beside me when I heard the gruesome sound of flesh, cracking of bones and rumbling in front of us.

Both of us sat up only to be greeted with the sight of the previous rotting yoju corpse rising back to life right in front of us and quickly regenerating its lost limbs at a fast pace.

All of us did the best we could to kill them, However, it seemed like they had evovled in just a short amount of time so the best we could do was surpress them. The moment the order of evacuating came in, we didn't hesitate to leave the area immediately, though someone had other plans

"Hibino, let's go!"

Oddly he had been staring worriedly towards the area the Honju was last located, I had a bad feeling that something big was about to occur and from the looks on that old guy's face gave me a hint of what he was about to do, but before I could stop him, he had already sprinted off and left me in a cloud of dust.

"Idiot!"

Just then, Haruichi passed by me in a flash and headed to the same area that Kafka was going.

'What is wrong with these people?!'

Y/n's pov

I lay helplessly on the ground in pain, needing desperate medical help. Kikoru was on her knees infront of me in the same state though her's was a lot more, she had blocked most of the attacks that were aimed at me.

I looked on towards the hellish horror in front of us. Kikoru let out a pained scream which shook me to the core, no doubt that Vice-Captain Hoshina was already informed of the state the exam area was in.

"S-sorry, Kikoru...ha"

I clutched my side in pain as the suit had a hard time dealing with my injuries. I looked back up at Kikoru when I sensed her shadow shift as she now did her best to stand up in front of me.

"I won't let anyone die here, not on my watch!"

She held her gun tightly and straightened her posture, looking all brave and determined though I could see that her body was shaking and enduring the pain.

'I can't die, please. Not yet'

Blood dripped down my forehead and down my left eye, disabling me from looking at things clearly. From the corner of my eye, I was too late to react when the Honju swung its arm forward and swatted us away, knocking Kikoru into a pile of debris and making me roll back far away from her.

I forced myself to stand up, looking back at Kikoru, she seemed to be out of it and was mumbling things that I couldn't hear. Picking up the nearest gun, I let out my rage and fired a barrage of bullets, unleashing my full combat power

49 percent...

I hastily managed to jump over and dodge the debris thrown towards me, the gun then let out an unusual sound and would no longer shoot out any bullets. all of a sudden, beams shoot past my head and I was then penetrated by many shots coming from the humanoid Kaiju.

I dropped down to my knees and let myself succumb to my injuries but not before having a last glimpse at the humanoid kaiju leaving through the cloud of debris.
