Therefore, I did exactly this as I in my wishful thinking played out in my brain. And I did it without thinking for a second. So therefore I looked down into the round face, with the shy eyes and narrow mouth that was like a line when she was nervous.

Because I knew we would share the same fate and walk the same path

Because I knew we would share the same fate and walk the same path. Out of my mouth came all that Beatrice had told me, her knowledge of how we would get out of here, that she must have given the same information to Vendela. Then a warning addressed directly to Vendela, to be careful of Beatrice.

The entire time during my monologue, she maintained steady eye contact with me. So when I noticed how she looked away, I reacted and became silent. Something behind her seemed to have caught her attention.

In my quiet mind I thought it was Beatrice watching us but when I turned around Gabriel was standing there. I automatically let go of her hands when my eyes met his. His face showed no emotion so I didn't know how to react. Silently we watched as he walked towards us, I had no idea how to behave. But I was sure of one thing, and that was thanks to Beatrice's call this morning: I was going to bring Gabriel on this trip. When Gabriel was near enough to us, Vendela said those things which I trembled to express:

- Is Gabriel in on this too? Actually, I think she tried to whisper them to me before he picked it up himself.

But Gabriel was quick to pick up on the situation. He gave me a wondering look. This was the wrong time to our plan plan to Gabriel, but what choice did I have? Quickly, before I could regret it, I explained the situation. The whole time I was looking down at the ground because I wasn't ready to meet his eyes after everything that had happened. Then he did something that surprised me. In my gaze I could see his hand approaching mine. When I then felt his warm palm against mine, my lungs stopped producing air.

- I go where Robin goes, he said shortly.

-

Vendela wished us both good night and dispersed from the group to go to her room. In the crack of the door I could glimpse Beatrice's eyes as she sat upright in bed leaning against the wall with a evil intent written on her face.
