- No! I almost screamed.

Gabriel looked at me from his prone position. I could see the bulge in his underpants and screamed "No!" once more.

- Get away from me, I said as I narrowed my eyes.

I didn't want to see him. Didn't want to see those brown eyes in mine, that naked upper body that the minute before was so close to me. That sent warmth inside me and made me experience feelings I couldn't pin down. It rustled in the covers and I understood that Gabriel had come to me, but I refused to open my eyes. When the hand on my knee was placed there, I slapped it away.

- Please, go away.

The voice almost broke on me

The voice almost broke on me. Filled with gratitude, I heard him withdraw after minutes that felt like forever. Not even once i took down my hands from my face to see him off. I couldn't... i didn't want to.

I opened my eyes and looked down at my clasped hands in my lap. The bottle with the yellow contents seemed to sneer at me and I firmly gripped its neck.

The fault lay with the ones I now held in my hand, this liquid which I now once again let flow down my throat. My whole body shook with anger. I held it up to my eyes with disgust and then hurled it hard against a tree. I saw how the broken glass danced before my eyes. The crash as it met the hard surface echoed in the silence. Then I buried my face in my knees and tried to feel something.

But all that came to me was this thirst. I curse myself for not bringing water with me. Although I knew that this thirst in my body was not due to that.

I'm a mess, waking up with a dry mouth and a pounding headache. I wailed loudly as I felt the rays of the sun under my eyelids.

- Hungover? a female voice near me.

Despite all the physical ailments, I knew who this voice belonged to. Another moan off despair squeezed out of my throat just by the knowledge of who I was dealing with. I couldn't bear to deal with Beatrice this early in the morning, with all the emotions from the night and then add to it a hangover.

- Meet Gabriel tonight, have you two fight again? she said. I opened my eyes and looked at the woman I had sitting on the grass next to the bed I had made with the help of blankets.

The dark hair danced in the wind and I felt such disgust at having her here so close to me when I was so vulnerable. With my arm over my face, I shield myself from the sight of her and the sun's rays on my face. Despite my muteness, she continued to speak:

- In a few days we are leaving here, then I hope you and Gabriel reconcile before then.

The rustling of cloth made me understand that she was standing up. Beatrice wasn't one to stick around when she wasn't wanted. Before she left, I managed to squeeze out:

- Just leave Vendela alone. I see your eyes on her. Leave her alone.

-

Suddenly Gabriel was standing there. With a serious expression he looked at me. His black hair lay over his face, obscuring his gaze. Before I could react he had knelt down in front of me. He wore the same clothes as the previous day. Tight jeans, a dark t-shirt that showed off his tanned skin under dark tattoos. Without a word between us, he lay halfway on top of me. Our mouths said nothing, but our movements said all the more.
