Vice-Captain Hoshina, on the other hand, let out a cheery laugh

"Wow, this might be our luckiest year yet!"

Reno kept silent as he looked over at us while the only thing I can do was wave awkwardly at him while inwardly questioning myself how I even managed to get such a percent with all the laziness that I have and mostly gaming skills which don't really seem useful.

"Oh, But don't get discouraged, Ichikawa. As long as your number's above zero, you're sure to pass! I mean, it's not like I've ever seen anyone output a zero befo-"

Soshiro Hoshina was cut-off when yet another surprised statement came out from Konomi's mouth

"Kafka Hibino, Unleashed Combat Power...Zero Percent!"

"Whaaaa?! The hell's wrong with that guy?! He got a zero?!"

Captain Hoshina proceeded to let out a hearty laugh at Kafka's demise while Konomi felt bad for the guy and doubted the measurements

"Huh? This must be a measurement error..."

Kafka not having any of it, was forcing himself to get at least a bit of an unleashed combat power percent to show up on the screen before him, looked hilarious which caused the Vice-Captain to laugh harder.

"No, please stop! You look like you're takin' a dump!! No amount of strainin' is gonna make it come out. Geeze, that old guy is a riot! Consider me a fan! He'll probably flunk out but, Hey!"

Having enough of her superior's behavior, Okonogi stood up and scolded him for acting unprofessional as he clutched his stomach in pain from laughing too much

"Please, proctor. Take this exam seriously, sir!"

While I was having the time of my life, having entertained before the exam and seeing my idol laugh lively in front of my eyes and his laugh sound out the speakers and into my ears like a lovely melody.

"HAHAHAHA you're doing too much!!"

I let out a big laugh as I let myself revel on the light atmosphere as Kafka's state entertained me for the time being before our demise

I pushed my hair back and calmed myself down while Kafka continues on in hopes of some surprise to happen again. Kikoru, on the other hand, was waiting for him to reveal his secret strenght which he previously showed at the time in the parking lot, irritated on why he wouldn't show it.

A few minutes went by and we were off to line up again and await for further instructions. The Vice-Captain who was previously separated from us behind a glass wall was now standing in front of us with his back towards the open door he went through.

"All righty then, now that you're all suited up...let's start the final test."

We were all situated up on a road in the test ground, all provided with communication earplugs as the Vice-Captain issued us with some ground rules from the other line.

"Your targets are the 36 Honju and Yoju positioned on this wide-open training area modeled after an urban district."

Two types of kaiju came into view, the first seemed to tower more over the other with a pair of horns on the side of its head with another pair of horns though are flattened on its forehead, with big wide row of teeth and hooved feet louldy stomping on the cemented ground. The others next to it had similar row of teeth and hooved legs though it had rows of spikes on it's back and a paler complexion.

"These Kaiju Claimed 16 victims in Hachioji Last year. We captured them alive to train the next generation of recruits."

A swooshing sound then dropped down from the sky and hovered over each one of us and making me more nervous that the people watching on the other side of the camera would be seeing me tripping over myself in the exam and putting on a show for them.

"You've each been assigned an auto-tracking drone, which we'll use to monitor your actions. In the event we determine your life is in danger, we'll activate your suit's shield remotely, But be aware, If we take that action, you've failed."

After that last statement, most of us tensed up at the mention of failing. I clutched my gun tightly to my chest as I distracted myself from thinking of having such a result, I had come this far into passing and becoming a general officer.

"To be frank, There's no guarantee that you'll make it out of this alive, But if you're prepared to forge ahead anyway in spite of that, then...Get out there!"

And that was our cue to leave. I jumped over the debris scattered all around us and dodge the flying boulders thrown towards us as the kaiju swished its tail dangerously close to us, luckily, I managed to cock my gun and shoot it before it could hit any one of us.

Kikoru then sprinted off ahead of us, the others seeing her action were then more determined to pass and finish the exam, following her lead and killing kaiju left and right.

'Well, things are bound to get messy with me here, bitch!'
