"The usual." His voice was strong in tone, knew what he wanted, and knew he'd get it.

I looked up from my phone, glancing over to the man who happened to sit right next to me.

He was a blonde man, long-ish hair, immaculate tux, broad shoulders and the carved lines of his jaw almost had me picking up my jaw from the floor.

He turned his head to look at me, and we locked eyes. Something about those eyes of his gave me a rather unsettling feeling, the same goosebumps rose onto my skin as the day I saw those corpses.

But, he observed my face, and bit the inside of his cheek before turning away and grabbing his drink from the bartender.

"I liked the way you handled that man." He abruptly started the conversation, and I swallowed hard, damn, who the fuck is this man and why is he not in my bed?

"It's rather weird to watch a woman from afar." I scoffed, swirling my glass and taking a sip.

A smirk curled onto his lips, and goddamn, who the fuck is this man?

"Caught my eye, you aren't a regular. Besides, I was going to deal with the guy if you weren't able to, so." The man spoke, he had this narcissistic tone to his voice which I just loved.

"That's weird how you can tell I'm not a regular, what are you, a spy?" I joked, and he gave a small chuckle, shaking his head lightly as he took a small sip of his glass.

"Pfft, a spy. That's a first." He seemed to be amused by my words, and he turned his head to observe my face once more, "What exactly did you tell the guy? He seemed traumatised when he came out of the bathroom."

Well, I wasn't just going to tell the guy that I had a weapon on me and that I threatened to shoot him if he didn't leave, so I had to think of something quick on the spot.

"I didn't say much. I always get what I want though, so." I told him, and he raised a brow, intrigued at my attitude.

"Is that so? How interesting, you're quite the girl." His voice was low, a hint of raspiness, and interest embedded all into one.

"If you want to hook up, you could just ask me, no need for all these clearly fake compliments." I rolled my eyes, finishing my liquor and handing my glass to the bartender for a refill.

The man went silent for a moment, the smirk on his face even bigger than before. He wouldn't cut his gaze off my face at first, and then his eyes trailed down to my outfit, then back up to my face.

"Hm, do you come here often?" He moved a strand of blonde hair out of his face, his tie was loosely on, and his top two buttons were unbuttoned.

"No, I rarely go clubbing. I'm too busy." I simply told him, and he licked his lips for a second.

"Too busy? And what is keeping you this occupied that you hid yourself from me?" The guy talked smoothly, the way his words rolled off his tongue so mellowly made me want to take him home right here, right now.

"Aren't you a little curious flirt? Thought a guy like you would've had girlfriends upon girlfriends." I wasn't going to tell him that I was an agent too.

Despite the fact I was drinking, I still had my morals, I knew what I could say, and what I couldn't.

"Ah, so you think I'm one of those guys, huh?" The guy chuckled, and I still wanted to know his name, but I didn't want to randomly ask him in the middle of a conversation, "You didn't answer my question."

"What's keeping me so busy?" I asked, and he gave a short hum, "Just my job."

"And what is it that you do?" He swirled his liquor in his glass, not cutting his gaze off me. I will be honest, it was intimidating as hell, but I'm not caving in solely because he's fine as fuck.

"What's that got to do with you?" I raised a brow, turning my head to look up at him, and there it was again, that eye contact between us that felt just right, "I don't even know your name."

His eyes gazed upon my lips and back to my eyes, and I knew he was probably trying to hit it off nicely with me, judging from the amount of checking out he has been doing.

"Mmm, the name is Jake. They all call me Jake around here." I stared into his eyes as he spoke, and in those whiskey-coloured pupils, I could feel a taint of callousness.

I swallowed hard, his name was Jake, I suppose the name suited him too well.

"Hikari." I replied, bluntly as he raised a brow.

"What a pretty name." He chuckled deeply as I simply rolled my eyes at his words.
