Chapter 57

Although the 19 years old Dohyun was far from what most people envisioned as troubled, he indeed checked most if not all the boxes for it. The truth sounded clichè, it was far more complicated: even though Dohyun didn't love the child nor cared for the child, he hadn't endangered both of them because of it, that had simply been a typical teenager's lack of ability to make sound and safe  decision, he meant no harm to the baby, but was simply acting like a default teenager, which in the state of his advanced pregnancy he clearly was not.

Furthermore  he had acknowledged having put his daughter in harm's way by escaping to the woods in his last trimester, weeks if not days away from his induction. What the relationship between Ji Hoon and his daughter had become could be described as from hate to love troupe.

Deep down he just hoped not everyone's, just Min Sik's understanding, unknown to the older man.
Ji Hoon was very clear about the fact that the alpha disliked him, it was this thin layer of behaviors from Min Sik himself that had gained such a conclusion.

They did have other staff in the house that was definitely not fond of Ji Hoon, but they didn't hate him either, they were just doing their job (without caring about who it hurt). Min Sik had been unusual all along for the omega teenager, he was the only newcomer, that disliked him for no apparent reason, or worse he didn't care for him. Always making sure to draw a line between Kyung Ho and Ji Hoon, which going to the same school and living in the same house was ridiculously noticeable, while Ji Hoon had by then gotten used to the lack of attachment, and affection, seeing the couple uncle and nephew hanging out and the said uncle taking care of him, whether that consisted in dragging Min Sik's body to his room whenever he had one too many drinks, or the older alpha had to supervise or stalk Kyung Ho, during his parties and other occasional events, once Kyung Ho had left for his military service, Min Sik had completely stopped going to the villa where his nephew and Ji Hoon resided. Things had drastically changed after Kyung Ho's assault, and even more after the three came to know that the omega was pregnant, the daze and horror of the teenager did not prevent Ji Hoon from noticing the drastic change of demeanor in the man. While Kyung Ho's only sought after forgiveness to further possess and isolate his adopted brother, Min Sik's attitude was in Dohyun's eyes mirrored pity, at least in the beginning the careful and attentiveness persisted even when Kyung Ho had gotten the alpha a bodyguard to prevent the omega from successfully committing suicide so he could continue to use his body.

The massage lessons, the psychiatrist, the pregnancy tonics and supplements, all the visits he had attended whenever he could, just to prove Ji Hoon, that once more he had been played with, furthermore with his daughter this time.
Min Sik's eyes stayed still, while he bit his mouth trying to contain a whimper, reaction to the omega he cared about being so disappointed and hurt by himself, sure he could have said the truth, he could tell Dohyun about him really being there, but the way they were arguing, it would have probably generated another argument.

Click of tongues were what broke the silence, Jae Beom kept being restless even in the alpha's arms, therefore the alpha had enacted the sort of tricks he used to calm down the baby's attention, unlike himself though Jae Beom displayed frustration, crying weakly.

"You don't think I wanted to do that? You don't think I wanted to do anything, from the moment I found out how you had gotten into our family? But what could I ever do? I was powerless, working as my fucking brother's pawn, doing everything he asked of me, putting innocent men in jail for money, proving my loyalty to him every turn of the way, until I became who I am. Even now I can finally stand on my own, I face an even bigger danger, but I'm here, doing right by you and the kids". Noticing Jae Beom fisting his bib and gulping down like it was food (since it carried the milky scent his mother's milk had), the two realised the baby was simply hungry. "Come here" Ji Hoon lifted him before Min Sik could do or say anything else, "Were you scared?" he chided kissing the grumpy baby's arms, Jae Beom's black hair sticked to his face, Ji Hoon, inhaled the baby's scent and relaxed sitting down on the sofa.

Having come to the conclusion that their discussion wasn't going anywhere he walked out of it, ignoring the pending man that stood in the kitchen Ji Hoon sat on the sofa, took off his T-shirt and began nursing his son, who upon sight began squirming to latch, as if the riches he was crying about earlier had never existed to begin with, after few seconds though Jae Beom stopped suckling, crankily and commenced whimpering again, craving Min Sik's soothing pheromones to which he had become acquainted and dependant on. Too angry to yield asking for help, Ji Hoon refrained from asking Min Sik to release some pheromones, and to get closer to them, "Aigoo, our son must be hungry" Min Sik lulled with a higher pitch voice than his true voice, like magic the little boy being cuddled by the alpha's pheromones he beamed slapping Ji Hoon's chest in the attempt to pull it closer, in a matter of seconds Jae Beom's eatery was back in business while he gulped away, giving the alpha quick glances to make sure he hadn't left.

Defeated by the result of the conversation and even more by the fact that he hadn't told Ji Hoon about the main part of the matter, the alpha's sorrowfully lingered on Dohyun left a T-shirt for the baby to cuddle, before he decided to go for a run. Per routine he didn't forget to set the two agents on alert.

Min Sik partially ran along the perimeter of the neighborhood, his mind conflicted between what he had wanted for Ji Hoon and what  that resulted in, he felt wronged at the misinterpretation of his intentions, somewhere between his omissions (that were partly justified by his frail mental state) and the real lies dsugar coated to keep him like an obedient kitten, he didn't mean to exceed to the point where Dohyun became aware of it. The fiasco he had just went through, had him hesitated about whether to tell Ji Hoon about the trip, or just taking him without notice.

Running had surely helped him process all of his emotions, while granting the neighborhood's ajummass a delightful and invigorating sight of his muscular back and broad shoulders.
Min Sik's mind was full of Ji Hoon, his subconscious craving for the Omega's  scent, it was a fault he didn't know how to escape, the one of belonging to the family that had infected so much pain to Dohyun, and developing feelings for him at that, the 32 years old alpha had gone from not having dated... ever, to playing the role of husband and father, the thought of that draw a dry laugh form the alpha. Min Sik's phone rang distracting him from further analysing his shitty situation, two messages came each one from a phone, one had him anxious the other dreamy.
