The King of Hell

This morning was a great morning. Alastor and I had a wonderful time last night celebrating our proposal. He took me out on a nice dinner, then we went dancing, and lastly he took me out to see the stars. I swear I was the luckiest girl in all of Hell to be marrying the Radio Demon himself.

I was in the kitchen making breakfast until I heard the door being slammed open.

“God damn!” I looked back to see that it was Charlie.

“Oh my god!” she was freaking out.

“Charlie. Whoa. Calm down. Take it easy. What’s going on?” I asked her.

“Okay. Well… I talked with my dad last night and he’s coming over today!”

“Wow, really?”

“Yes! So I have a job for you. Could you make a special dish for him? He’ll be coming over here later this afternoon.”

“Of course. I’ll make him something really good.”

“Thank you mom!” Charlie hugged me.

I laughed and hugged her back. I was really interested about today. I've always wanted to meet the Big Boss of Hell ever since the social media page. After Charlie left, I looked into my cookbooks to see what was I going to cook for him. I remembered from earlier this week that he likes ducks.

So I got an idea and looked through my phone to look for duck themed foods I can cook for him. A little while later, I finally had my meal plan. For dinner, I was going to cook a ducky rice gumbo. And for dessert, I’m making ducky marshmallows. I started prepping the marshmallow since they were going to take a little longer.

All morning long, I was preparing and cooking the duck themed gumbo rice and marshmallows. It was hard enough not being able to see Alastor the day after he proposed to me. But I’m sure that he’ll understand why I was so busy today. I mean, this dinner was important to me as it was to Charlie. And I wanted to make a good impression.

~2 hours later…

“Phew. All done.” I said as I wiped the sweat off of my forehead.

“Oh wow! Everything smells so good in here!” Charlie said as she was walking into the kitchen.

“Thanks Charlie. I finished just in time too.”

“Great! All we have to do now is make the hotel nice and clean for him! I really want him to be proud of me!”

“It's okay Charlie. Calm down.” I held her hands. “Your dad's just coming over, it's not a big deal. Your dad loves you and it would matter about what you’re doing. Things will be fine.”

“Okay. Thanks Rachel. I’m glad that I have someone like you to be there for me.”

“Me too.” I smiled.

~A little while later…

I was helping everyone in the lobby decorate for Lucifer to arrive. As I was hanging up streamers, I looked down to see that Aqua and Husker were getting along just fine. I realized that they were actually cute together. And Husk seemed to be happier with her. I still chuckled to myself that I started their love story with two black eyes. After I got down from the ladder, I heard ringing at the door.

“Ding dong.” Aqua said.

“I’m guessing that’s him now.” I said as I stood by the table with the treats I’ve also prepared for the staff.

“Okay! He’s here! Act natural!” Charlie said as she was opening the door.

After I saw my daughter opening the door for me, I went in and gave my daughter a big hug. “Charlie! It’s so good to see you again!”
