The news of Emilie Agreste's death shook the (L/n) family. The contract with Gabriel Agreste fell apart but despite her unravelled friendship with Adrien, she wondered every day about him and how he was coping without his mother.

The news of her death was not made public. Only a few people knew. To the rest of the world, Emilie Agreste had disappeared. Gabriel Agreste was now a reclusive designer who never left his house.

The last time (Y/n) saw Adrien was at the funeral. His head hung, fighting back tears as his bodyguard protected him from the outside world. For a split second, they made eye contact, his eyes widening before he shook his head and blinked a few times.

She could just about see make out him calling her name before her parents pulled her away from the funeral towards their car. The only thing she could think of was the pile of letters in her drawer. She wished and wished she had sent them, but she wished even more for him to have replied.
