Her father, His butler

Chapter 21

Serenity's pov.

I was nerves as I waited for the wedding to starts. I knew a lot of people were coming. Father told me that my uncles as well as a few of my aunts were here, father was the oldest of five. I fidget a little with my fingers as I wait for my father to say everything was ready to go. Father had helped me get ready and I couldn't help but look myself over in the mirror once again to see how stunning I was in my wedding dress, but at the same time I wanted to cry knowing this was my mothers dress. Soon father had my arm and we were walking down the isle. My eyes locked with William's which he couldn't take off of me as I walk over to him. Father places my hand in William's as the minister asks who gives me away which father says he does before he pats the top of our hands then stands off to the side next to me. I wanted no one but my father to be standing next to me as I marry. I only half listen to the minister talk as I looked William over a few times but I couldn't help but look into his green eyes as we stand there. I noticed his eyes look at my lips as I repeat my vows to him as well as saying I do. Then we were kissing and it was so sweet, gentle, and warm that my eyes flutter shut as he kissed me.

We walk down the isle once again to where we were having the reception and I stand next to William as we greet guest that walk past us until one person who I was shocked to see walks in. She places a gentle kiss on my cheek before saying "Your mother would be very proud of you." before she walked away from me. I could see William giving me a questioning look but I just shake my head a little as if to tell him I would tell him later. Father and Ciel walks over and I could tell from the look on Ciel's face that he was unhappy with the idea that I was now married and he looked very angry about William being here. Soon everyone was seated and we were all eating. William hasn't let go of my hand this whole time but finally lets me go so we can eat. There was happy talking as everyone talked about how nice the service was and such. I could feel Grell glaring at me and the scowl that was directed at William by my uncle who wanted to marry me as well as Ciel. "Who was that woman who kissed you?" William asks in a soft tone making me give a soft sigh. "My aunt, she is my mother's sister." I say in a tight tone. I hadn't seen anyone on my mothers side since her death, not that they had a lot to do with us before that. Mother's father had a deep hatred for my father. I was even shocked that he showed up to the wedding and was giving hateful looks over at my father who was fussing over Ciel and helping out where it was needed.

"Serenity you look so cute." Elizabeth says as William and I stand and walk around talking to people now that the meal was over with. "Thank you Lady Elizabeth." I say softly making her giggle happily before she grabs my free hand pulling on it gently.  "So are you still going to live here with Ciel and Sebastian or are you moving into a house nearby?" Elizabeth asks me and I blush lightly before glancing over at William. "For now until the house is finished we will be living here." William says and my eyes go wide. I had no idea that we even had a house as of yet because we had still been looking for one before the wedding. "That is wonderful! Ohhh Serenity we should have tea together in a few days." Elizabeth says making me give her a stiff nod before William pulls me away to talk to a few other people. I stand uneasily next to William as we talk to a few reapers who had come to the wedding. Grell was glaring at me so I just give him the same scary close eyed smile father would give to people when they were to stupid to not be afraid of him. "That is just like Sebastian's smile. You really are his daughter." Grell says and I look over at him before giving a soft giggle. "I have been told many times I look a lot like my father." I say softly and Grell scowls a little. "Where is your mother? Is it normal for the brides mother to not come to the wedding?" One of the older reapers ask and I feel my smile fall a little.

"My mother is no longer among the living." I say feeling a lump form in my throat. I hardly talked to anyone about my mother no longer being alive and I could feel the tears starting to form in my eyes. William put his arm around me and pulled me closer to his side before placing a gentle kiss to the top of my head as if to calm me down which he did. I keep my eyes down not wanting to look at any of them but I feel a hand take my own making me look up at Grell who had a sad look clear in his eyes. "I am sorry for your loss." He says in a soft tone making me give him a small smile. "Excuse us." William says before he leads me away from the reapers who were whispering among themselves as they look us over. "I am sorry about them. The elders can be insensitive at times." William says before he holds me just a little tighter. I give a sigh and lean into him enjoying the comfort that he was giving me. "It is alright. I have told very few people about my mother's death. It is not something I felt many people needed to know." I say and William gives a small sigh before stopping and turning me to look at him. "I love you." William says before he looks deep into my eyes. I feel my heart skip a beat with how intently he was looking into my eyes and I could see all the love, hope and understanding in his eyes. "I love you too." I whisper a small blush on my face making William chuckle a little.
