Stargaze with me,
It's the only way I feel at peace
Fingers interlocked,
The smell of your hair gives way to the summer night.
Lavender lips and crystal scattered skies,
It's just you and me tonight.
The grass is prickly, unbearably—
The smile on your face is mischievously beautiful.
Alone with you here they can't judge the quiet thoughts of you and I,
No horrid screams of what is right.
So stargaze with me,
It's the only way I feel at peace.
Singers on a stage, light in our face
Baby, they can't scrutinize us here anyway.
