Bad Dog

You're a bad hound
Drool drooping down your open mouth
Baring sharp teeth, wearing it out
But I'm bad too
My bite is worse than my bark and I do
Scarring a hand which wished to feed me then, in my mind, apologise, wish I'd just ate the food

You're a bad dog
There's savagery in your spit, ferocity in your talk
Despite innocence in youth, with which you befog
'Cause I did love
The animal in you that needed a hug
Only thing I never learned is how to let go of what was

So I capture, I claw onto you
Digging in, biting what I never intended to chew
And you, you do the same, you do it too
You never knew, never intended to but you do

We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
We're bad dogs
Bad dogs
