THRERE WAS ONE THING Nayeli will never be able to get over since she moved here two days ago and that's the constant rain. Even though she found the sound of rain hitting her windows quite peaceful at night she wasn't a fan of the constant rain.

Today was her first day of school and she wasn't truly excited she had never had the experience of being a new girl since she only lived in one spot since childhood. The house was cold and smelled of burnt bacon. With her nose scrunched up she headed to the kitchen to see her dad in an apron jumping back from the hot grease.

"burnt bacon and pancakes my favorite"Nayeli sat down pouring herself a cup of tea Pedro smiled a little

"I'm trying I'm used to eating at carvers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner"Nayeli gave him a little salute understanding he was trying to adjust to the father role it could be quite hard if they didn't exactly know one another

"it can be quite hard since you only saw me once when I was four"She shrugged she didn't blame his absence on him one bit and he knew that

"I really am trying to do this right I promise"Pedro placed his hand on Nayeli's she gave her father a little smile of appreciation she appreciated him more than anyone could imagine he saved her from moving in with her overbearing aunt and yes ma'am of a husband.

"I should be getting ready for school and you should be getting ready for work"She smiled as she wrapped up eating the breakfast her father tried his hardest to make
