~Chapter 03~

————

It has been two days since Novaria arrived in forks, but there was still no sign of her older sister Victoria. Despite the risk of exposing herself, she chose to stay in an abandoned cabin deep in the woods instead of staying at a hotel. She couldn't risk losing control of her bloodlust, and the isolation of the cabin provided some level of safety.

Sitting across from her, Ivan couldn't hide his frustration any longer. "If we don't find her soon, we'll have to go back to Volterra." he said, breaking the tense silence between them. "What will they think of us taking so long?"

Novaria rolled her eyes, the thought of returning to Volterra isn't on her list for now at least. "Then you go back there first. I'll stay here for a while longer." she replied nonchalantly.

"Fine." he grunted under his breath, not wanting to go back without her.

As they sat in silence, Novaria's ruby eyes suddenly widened and her body tensed, standing up from her chair. Ivan quickly got up as well, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "What's wrong?"

"It's her." Novaria replied before disappearing in a flash of light by using her teleportation. Ivan groaned, once again left behind, and he quickly sprinted after her by the scent.

"Victoria!" Novaria shouted as she ran through the trees, her senses leading her towards her suster.

Then she finally came to a stop when she saw a flash of red hair sitting on top of a tree branch. Victoria's face was contorted in frustration and anger, and it was clear that she was not in a good mood.

But when she heard the familiar voice that she had not heard for centuries, Victoria's face lit up. It was the voice of her only little sister, Novaria. Without a second thought, she leaped down from the branch she had been perched on and ran towards Novaria.

"Novaria!??" Victoria called out. Novaria didn't say a word, instead she immediately enveloped her older sister in a tight embrace. Novaria wanted to cry but realized she was not human anymore.

As they pulled away from the hug, Victoria couldn't believe her eyes. "I can't believe it..." She murmured, still in shock as she scanned Novaria from head to toe. She couldn't help but also notice the necklace hanging around her sister's neck and her unique looking dress.

"Hey, I thought you'd never make it." Victoria whispered, her eyes widen a little. She never expected that Novaria would look exactly like her right now, speaking of being a Vampire.

She couldn't help but notice the crimson hue of Novaria's eyes, just like hers. "I have so many questions... who?" Victoria narrowed her eyes, waiting for an answer.

Novaria nodded knowingly, looking briefly at Ivan before back at her sister. "It's a long story." she replied, a small smile forming on her lips.

Not wanting to let Victoria know that she is part of the most powerful coven, the Volturi. "But right now, I'm just happy that I finally found you, Vic." She reached out and took Victoria's hand in a sisterly gesture.

Victoria's lopsided smile grew wider as she looked at Novaria. But Victoria's gaze soon shifted to Ivan, causing Novaria to raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "And him too? don't tell me you're togeth-" Novaria cut her off.
