You think I didn’t see you sigh
I see the boredom in your eye
You sit there looking at your phone
It’s like I’m sitting here alone
You get a text, you have to flee
Could you not spend just one day with me
I know you’re young, you’ve got your friends
You’re busy all week and all your weekends
Your time is limited, you’ve got so much to do
I wish you would call or should I call you
But I guess I’m pretty low on your priorities
Could you not spend just one day with me?
One day you may call, but no answer, just dead air
You may knock upon my door, and no one will be there
When I’m laid to rest, maybe you will think of me
And say, “ Could you not just spend one more day with me?”
