Todays one of my favourite days of the year, a day of celebrating difference and embracing it, Gay pride in Brighton!

Id always admire the parade as they cheer past my house, but never actually left the house to see it or even go to the festival but today I was going with Jacob, who is equally exited.

I left my hair out and put a flowery pink head band around it, I'm not the most colourful dressed person but todays a rare exception.

I put on a white shorts jump suit and white converses and rosy lip liner along with mascara.

I walked downstairs ready to go when I saw my mum dressed in colourful clothing too

I looked at her up and down

"Where are you going?" I asked

She gave me an ecstatic smile "Gay Pride!" She sang

My face grew red "Thats where I'm going! Please just go next year!"

"No darling my friends taking me." she insisted

"Please just stay out of my way." I sighed

The door bell rang- saved by the bell!

Jacob stood there wearing a bright and colourful top, with a colourful flag tucked behind his ear

"Pride!!!" He shouted, while practically jumping on me

"You look like a rainbow!" I said

"You finally look like your wearing a bit of colour!" He replied

I jumped in the front seat, Bella was sitting in the back wearing colourful clothes her hair was sprayed pink at the bottom.

Jordan was sitting next to her wearing a grey muscle top that showed off his muscular arms, his hair pulled from his face by a bright pink bow, although it was feminine he still looked handsome and it admittedly suited him.

"Hi guys!" I sang whilst putting my seat belt on

"Ooh Hazel," said Bella. "Do you like Jordan's Bow I put on him?" She said nudging his arm

"Nice bow, but it would look better by itself without him wearing it." I said

"It'd look better if you weren't wearing anything." Said Jordan laughing to himself

I face grew red with embarrassment

"Why so much flirting?" Laughed Jacob

Jordan immediately furrowed his eyebrows in disguised

"Yucky." He said in a childishly sarcastic voice

"I wouldn't call it flirting, just one sided insults." I said, bored

"Defence is the first sign of guilt!" Chuckled Bella

"And shes the first sign of hideous," Lazily replied Jordan

No one has every called me hideous apart from myself, that insult will stay in my mind

"Im sorry what?" I asked, confused

"I would never go there." Said Jordan

"And what makes you think that Id want you to go there, wherever it is?"

He stared at me dumbly as if my question was silly "Every girl would go there if they had a choice, today I'm aiming to turn at least 10 lesbians straight."

"And turn 1 straight girl lesbian." I replied, pointing at myself

"Ha, good one Hazel!" Giggled Jacob
