It was raining outside when we entered the car. I attempted to track Rodriguez's phone because it had an indestructible phone case, but I doubted they kept his phone because they probably didn't want us to find him anyway.

The car was so awkwardly quiet that I almost forgot Adrian was there. He startled me as he suddenly spoke.

"When did you first learn to drive?" he asked, "Tell the truth." I looked at him weirdly. Was he expecting me to lie to him?

"I learned to drive illegally at ten," I answered.

"I-illegally?" he repeated, then queried, "Did Rodriguez teach you?"

"No..." I hesitated, "I taught myself."

"Cool," he looked out the window and sighed. "Did you crash? Tell the truth." Again, with the "tell the truth." He was being very skeptical. There was a long pause. I didn't know what to answer. I wasn't going to lie, but it wasn't like I could just change the subject.

Suddenly, the red dot on the tracer device flickered to Rodriguez's location. Perfect timing.

"Oh," I said in relief, "Rodriguez's location has been secured. We need to get there as fast as we can and bring some reinforcements to arrest Sergei–"

"So, did you crash?" he persisted. I started to drive.

"Adrian," I sighed in annoyance. "I was only ten with no driving experience. Of course, I crashed."

"Did anyone get hurt?" he probed.

"I had a bloody nose," I said. "What are you getting at–"

"Let me rephrase that," Adrian corrected, "Did you hit anyone?"
