~~Chapter 2: Restless Night~~

(Amy's POV)

I wearily look at the clock, 9:15 P.M  it reads,I sigh heavily,I had been trying to fall asleep since 8,failing miserably,I decide to get up and get a glass of water,I walk tiredly to the kitchen,my pajamas swaying with my body,I grab a glass from the cupboard and fill it with Ice water,I take a sip,but I can’t shake the feeling i’m being watched,my eyes wander to the window,and I drop my water cup in horror,two giant,yellow eyes are looking into mine,I throw water at the window and take off into my room,slamming the door behind me,I sit on the floor,trying to process what I just saw,after a few minutes,I decide to go back to the kitchen slowly,I see that my glass is still on the floor,water streaked down the windows,and the eyes are gone. I wipe the water off the window and close the curtain,my hands shake as I walk back to my room,I lay down on my bed wide awake, should I go investigate?No,I feel like I'm sticking my nose in the wrong business…

The next morning,Amy wakes up,she calls Sonic over because he is the only one she wants to tell what happened last night.

(Sonic’s POV)

Shit. “Uhh,Ames you okay? You seemed pretty hysterical over the phone.” I said. God dammit why did I come here last night! She saw me!  “I-I-I don’t know b-but something was watching me last night Sonic! T-the eyes were so yellow!” she said sadly,my ears went down in sadness and awkwardness, poor Ames,I gave her such a scare last night,I should probably tell her it was me,who knows? Maybe she could help me. “Uh Ames, can I tell you something..?” I said nervously, oh god I can’t believe i’m telling her this!,m-maybe I could change the subject last minute?? No. stop being a little bitch,j-just tell her. “Yeah,w-whats up?” she asked uneasily, “Uh,about last night.” I started to say,she immediately perked up with interest, “Y-Yeah what about it?” she said nervously,

“Uhm. clears throat uh..i-it was me. I was the one at your window last night.” I said quietly and timidly,she looked surprised, “W-Wait what? Oh,the moonlight made your eyes look yellow,I-I get it.” She said,I sighed heavily “N-No,my eyes actually were yellow.” I said with a gulp,she looked confused

“Uh,Sonic I think the lack of sleep is getting to you,your eyes are green not yellow.” she said,I sighed reluctantly there’s no way I could just explain it to her,she wouldn’t get it,I’m going to have to show her,aren’t I…ugh,I don’t feel like Amy seeing the pain I go through each and every night “Uhm,A-Ames I have something to tell you.” I said, she might not get it,but I can try to explain “Uhm,okay?” She said confusedly, “Uh…gulp I-,okay,so you know folklore? Vampires,werewolves,dragons, that kinda stuff?” I said,she looked confused, “so,uh,i’m currently having troubles with being one of those,t-take a guess.” I said nervously, “Uh,what?” she asked cluelessly, “G-guess which one I am right now.” I said quietly, “W-Well I mean,you are always tired,nobody ever sees you at night anymore,you're never hungry,so I’m gonna guess vampire?” She said,holding back a laugh,I couldn’t help but laugh as well, “Close but no.” I said with a slight giggle,Amy looked as if she was about to burst out laughing, “Sooo,you aren’t a dragon,or a unicorn,or anything like that,so i’ll have to say a regular hedgehog!” Amy said with a laugh,my face turned serious way too quickly, “Ames,I know how ridiculous this sounds but I’m not kidding,I actually am a mythical beast right now. just think about it,I’m always tired,I’m never seen at night anymore,and you saw

That my eyes were a different color,j-just think about it, what was last night?” I said eagerly,I had basically laid it out on the table,I hoped she’d pick up what I was laying down,I didn’t wanna flat out say it,that would just be embarrassing. “Uh,Sonic you're kidding,last night was just a half moon,nothing else-'' She started to say,but then shut up as it hit her, “W-Werewolf?,you're telling me you’re a werewolf?” she said skeptically,my ears go down in embarrassment as I nod slowly,she looks at me in disbelief,before bursting out laughing, “Oh my god! You as a werewolf? Oh my god that's hilarious Sonic.” she said before laughing again,my face painted unamusement,she stopped laughing, “Uh,are you serious?” She said, “Yes, why would I lie about something like this?” I said strictly,she snickered again, “You realize how ridiculous this sounds,right Sonic?” she said,suppressing another bout of laughter,I look at her and roll my eyes, ugh,I knew she wouldn’t believe me,I never should’ve told her,I guess I could play it off as a joke,but then when she sees my transformation,which I know she will eventually,she’ll be mad for my lying,I guess I could just give her a hug and leave. “Whatever,you believe what you want to believe,Imma head home, Ames.” I said slightly annoyed,she looked at me concerned, “Did I offend you,Sonic?” she asked timidly, I can’t tell her yes…it wouldn’t hurt to lie at least once….no,Sonic The Hedgehog doesn’t lie about anything. “I mean, a little bit. But that statement is naive. It's hard to believe werewolves exist,so I understand,but I'm really headed home cause I need to though,I’ll see you later,Ames.” I said with a smile,I gave her a hug then left her house.

I looked at my phone and saw the time,it read 7:41 P.M,nine minutes to sunset. Okay,9 minutes to get as far away from my friends as possible,very manageable with my incredible speed,just have to make sure I don’t run into any of my friends.
