I've never been rich,

I've never had money,

I can't skip the price,

I can't justify it twice,

I can't afford the designer brands,

Or the shoes with the golden bands.

I can't buy my love into people's hearts,

I can't force myself to break their hearts,

I can't afford to lose them all,

I won't survive the price of the fall.

Money has never truly been my friend,

It just masked the ones I thought I had.
