What I Think
I picked up this book since I'm following the series, but honestly, this book disappointed me. I'm actually relieved the series made changes because, to put it bluntly, this has to be one of the worst mafia-themed books I've read. The so-called mafia leaders come off as too immature to be believable as leaders, and the characters overall just got on my nerves. The writing might have suffered from poor translation, but it still felt subpar, and there were so many plot holes. While there were a few scenes I liked, overall, I don't think the book is worth the read. The series, on the other hand, is excellent – they've made adjustments that really work for the mafia setting, so I was pretty bummed that the book didn't measure up to the adapted version.
