Prologue: The Wittebane brothers

Start from the beginning

They felt like they could truly understand each other, and in many ways they were the other's best friend

One day, the two brother's were playing off in the forest near their village in gravesfield

They were playing a game of Tag, and Caleb was It however, to make things interesting, he decided to give Philip a 10 second head start this time.

After a few seconds Caleb started running after him, until a few minutes later, he realized that he was lost without a trace of his brother in sight

[Background Ambience]

The older brother later started to panic a little thinking he had completely lost his way back along with his younger brother

He than took a deep breath calming himself down before he started calling out his little brother in hopes to get a response to find him.

Caleb:"Philip!? Philip!?, where are you?[sighs] Okay, maybe this 10 second head start wasn't such a good idea. I...I think I lost him."

He took another deep breath and thought about what to do before he saw a large tree nearby and decided to climb it for a better view of his surroundings

Once he was high enough from the tree he looked around but he did not see his little brother anywhere

Just then, right when he was about to climb back down, he heard what sounded like someone crying in a ditch close to the tree.

He thought it might be his brother so he turned towards it. however, much to his surprise, he found that it was not Philip, but a strange girl who looked to be around his age.

He didn't know who she was, but it was clear she wasn't a fellow Puritan. Instead of the usual drab colors as she wore a colorful dress and had long red hair which was not concealed under a bonnet.

Additionally, her ears seemed to be pointed. And strangest of all, she seemed to be talking to a Blue Jay bird

Girl: It's no use, Waffles! I'm NEVER getting this right! And at this rate I'll be the laughingstock of Hexside for sure! And worst of all, I'm letting my family down!"

Blue Jay:[chirps]

Girl:[sighs] I appreciate that, but...I mean just LOOK AT ME! All my siblings had this mastered at this point. I know it's advanced, but I can barely even make that disgusting slime move!"

Caleb had never seen this girl before, and yet somehow, he felt strangely drawn to her as he cautiously climbed out on the branch for a better look. Unfortunately, he ventured out a little too far, before suddenly, the branch snapped out from under him

He fell down to the ground, landing right on his arm injuring himself very badly

As he reeled in incredible pain, he saw the blue Jay turn into a staff in the girl's hand as she approached him pointing the staff at him
