We walked into the main room again from the first day. We went back over the brain shit and how the zombie virus affects it. A sob story about his wife. I sat on the floor leaning against Daryl's legs again

Everyone started crying when Jim and Amy were mentioned. I just pushed my back further into Daryl's legs, he put his hand on my head and brushed my hair.

"You okay" I heard him whisper, I looked up to him

"Yeah" I nodded

"Vi power down the main stations" The doctor instructed the AI

"Powering down main stations" the robot replaced and the big screen went black

"You have no idea what it is do you?" Andrea asked Jenner

"It could be microbial" he started getting tenser. I stood but kept leaning on Daryl chest, he placed a hand on the crook of my neck and squeezed once telling me he was still there. Grounding me. "Viral, parasitic, fungal"

"Or the wrath of god" Jacquie says. I don't know if she's mocking or being sincere

"There is that" Jenner says his head off in the clouds

"Somebody must know something" Andrea spoke up again - I'm starting to like this chick - but something seems off. Eerie. "Somebody. Somewhere"

"There are others" Lori pipes up and I roll my eyes. She may have my sympathy but not my respect "other facilities"

"They are all gone" I spoke nonchalantly

"She's right" he points to me "the last to send out word were the French. I haven't heard anything from anyone else."

"So there's nothing left anywhere" Andrea almost scoffs "anywhere?"

Everyone went silent for a while before Dale spoke up "Hey Doc" he pointed at the clock "what happens when the time runs out?"

"The...The basement generators. They run out of fuel" he says but something about the way he said it made it sound like there was more

"What else are you not telling us?" I ask taking a step out of Daryl's chest

"Vi, what happens when the power runs out?" Rick said to the AI. But it didn't respond voice recognition I realised. Everyone was starting to panic

"Tell him" Jenner said grabbing the bottle of whatever alcohol he had on his desk and taking a swig

"When the power runs out," she started "facility wide decontamination will occur"

Everyone went to get bags and supplies except for; Rick, Shane, Glen, Andrea and T-dog - they went to check the generators. As expected they were out. Jenner fucked off God knows where

I went back with Dale, Lori, Carol, Jacquie and the kids to grab all our shit.

Daryl came up behind me as I was checking to make sure my weapons were in place before placing a hand on my shoulder and kissing my temple.

Jenner rejoined us and went on about Zone 5 shutting down and shit. We got back to the 'computer room'. Jenner sat silently not saying shit. It was starting to piss me off.

Lori looked at me like I'd grown a third head. That was my last nerve. "Got something to say Olive?" I asked her cocking an eyebrow. She stayed silent and I scoffed "no? Good"

We heard running feet and the generator squad came back. We all went down the stairs and rendezvoused with them at the bottom

"Jenner what's happening" Rick was starting to panic

"The system is shutting down" he replias. So calm it was unnerving "it's dropping all the non essential uses of power. It's supposed to keep the computers running until the last possible second. At about the half an hour mark." We walked into the main room and he looked at the clock "right on schedule"

An alarm started going off and I walked to the other women and kids, Daryl right behind me. "What was that" Shane spoke for the first time since this morning

"30 minutes until decontamination" the fucking AI's voice came out

"Mum" Carl hugged loris legs and Sophia snuggled into Carol. That was it. The straw that broke the camels back. I was done
