i made it through the first week
of the new year alone
i'm expecting the next 51
to be the same

until i find someone exciting
to erase you from my mind
a fresh new adventure
things for me to explore
the bomb is slowly ticking
and i don't got much time
i just need you to say
the one thing ive been wanting

and maybe you're just not as interesting
as i thought you were before
but maybe you broke my heart
and part of me is still attached
because of how close we are
i guess i'll be waiting

so don't tell me that
you wish you could have been
the perfect boyfriend to me
because that shit messes with my mind
and makes me still believe
that you could possibly want me
and eventually

i'll have moved on from you
and you'll be the one who's crying
you won't ever get a chance with me
once i've moved far away
but these plans will have to wait
