Chapter 4 - First Meeting

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Dear Trinity Lily Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

UNIFORM First-year students will require:
1.Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2.One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear 3.One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4.One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)

Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags.

COURSE BOOKS All students should have a copy of each of the following:
- The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk
- A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
- Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling
- A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch
- One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore
- Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
- The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble

OTHER EQUIPMENT
1 wand
1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
1 set glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set brass scales

Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a toad.

Me and Harry gathered our books and he offered to pay. I didn't tell him that it was both our money or that it came from the same vault. Whatever anyway he was trying to be nice so I let it slide for once. I had access to the vault, well I had access to the potter vault that has some of mums earnings as well. I think Harry has access to it as well, but that wasn't what mattered especially when we share it after all. Next stop was the clothing shop where both me and Harry got sized for our uniforms and robes. I was super excited for Hogwarts and had hoped for any of the houses aside from hufflepuff. The lot of us agreed that I was far from a hufflepuff if anything. Remus said hopefully Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, he didn't really like Slytherin much.

Something about bad witches and wizards, but part of me wanted to be sorted into it. While i finished before Harry when getting sized and such I decided to wait for him. I saw through people waiting, a man with long platinum blond hair. A women with black hair with strips of blond and a young boy my age with the same hair as the man. Who I assume was most likely his father and I could tell anyone. I knew who they were, the Malfoy family was notoriously known for their platinum blonde hair.

"Hello Mr. Malfoy, Mrs. Malfoy and you are?" I asked

The boy turned and faced me with a distasteful look until he saw me. Looked me up and down with a smirk and stuck his hand out.

"Draco Malfoy and you?" He asked with a smirk

"Trinity potter" I said with a smirk of my own

"Potter, one of the twins who lived" Draco said shocked

"The better twin of course" I giggled as I looked over my shoulder at Harry

"I bet the more attractive one too" Draco smirked

"Hello nice to meet you, I'm Narcissa and this is my husband Lucius" Narcissa said

"Nice to meet you, hope to see you at school Draco, I should get going to gather supplies before it gets too late" I said

"See you, but if your put in Gryffindor then we can't be friends" Draco said softly

"Hmm I guess we will see then" I said

With that I bid farewell and walked back to find Harry waiting for me this time.

"Sorry I got into a chat with someone, shall we go to the next shop?" I said

"I was thinking we go to get our wands" he said

"Olivanders is this way then" I said grabbing his hand

"Do you ever not pull" he said

It sounded more upset than anything so I let go and scoffed before continuing the walk towards olivanders.

"For your information I've been dying to meet my twin, so my deepest apologies for being excited" I snapped and before he could reply we entered the shop

"Miss and Mr potter it's wonderful to have you, waited long for this day it feels as though it was just yesterday your mum and dad were here getting their wand" the man said

I wasn't in the best mood any longer so I simply nodded and tried to encourage him to hurry. Harry went first and it took a good three wands before he was given the right one.

"Interesting indeed Mr Potter, for that core was only given one other feather from the same bird, to the one who gave you that very scar" Olivander said

"Oh" Harry said

"Hey Ollie how you been?" I said approaching him

"Hello miss potter it's been a month hasn't it, and it's been good how's home" he said

"Good but now I need my own wand not just a fix to one" I said

"Right here try this first" he said handing me a rather odd looking wand

I gave it a wave but just as the first one Harry got it wasn't the right one. I was given another and another by then I was rather frustrated when he handed me my sixth wand.

"My apologies miss potter try this one" he said handing me the wand

I took a deep breath and gave it a wave, it was the one seeing as a swirl of gold cascaded down and around me. Wow is all I could think at how magical this wand felt and how perfect it felt in my hand.
