Chapter one; Dinner

"Barely, it was a dare" Bells said rolling her eyes

"Sure" I nodded

"So what was your first kiss, you've never even told me!?" Bells said

"Oh yeah, it was with Conrad actually, before I moved and before the summer but it was at the end of that school year, it was also a dare" I nodded

"But then it's not really your first kiss, your first kiss should be someone who wants to kiss you not just out of a dare" Bells said looking at me putting her hair behind her ear on her right side

"I guess so but that's just my technical first kiss" I nodded

Then Conrad and Jere came in with all my bags and put them down next to my dresser "Thanks bell boys" I smiled

"Ha ha very funny, anyways wanna come to the bonfire tonight with us August" Conrad said "Me and Jere and Steven are going"

I nodded "Sure"

"Alright cool" Jere said smiling

Conrad rolled his eyes "I could've said that"

"Whatever you two get out we are having girl talk!" I said shewing them out and so they left

We gossiped until dinner about school things and stuff like that

Susannah then yelled "Dinner is ready!"

We both came down then I saw, Laurel and hugged her "Sorry I didn't say hi when you got here hun, I was working on my book and listening to music" She softly smiled at me

"It's okay Laur" I smiled back then we went to the dinner table I sat next to Conrad who was at one end then Jere was next to me and next to him was Steven across from me was Belly then Laur then at the other end Susannah and then we all got our food, I then spoke

"Soo Connie what are you doing this summer other then football of course" I smiled looking at him, he was looking down at his plate

"Oh uh I-" Conrad said before he got cut off by Jere

"He quit" Jere said playing with his food

"But! he can always change his mind!" Susannah said

"I'm not" Conrad said looking up at Susannah

"Damn really? I would kill to play collage football" Steven said finally looking off his phone

"I'm surprised, I mean I thought you loved football" I sighed out

"Loved is a key word" Conrad said looking at me

"Alright! Well back to good news! I have something for August and Belly" Susannah said getting up and handing us envelopes

"So this is what you needed to go to the country club for" Laur said rolling her eyes and getting up to get more wine

We opened the envelopes "Is this for the deb ball?" I asked looking at her

"Isn't that like where girls get dressed up and dance or something" Bells said scanning over the letter

"No, I mean yes but it's about networking and charity it's kinda like a batmitzvah!" Susannah nodded to herself

"The deb ball is not like a batsmitzvah" Laur said laughing while walking in

"Yeah plus all that deb shit is bullshit" Conrad said kinda playing with his food

"Well I'll go, it's not like I have much to do, and as you all know I loveee to dress up!" I smiled and checked the yes box on the card

"I don't know Susannah" Bells said

"Yeah it's not Bells thing anyways" Laur said and sat down "She's our little feral cat" she said and played with Bells hair

"Okay Laur enough wine for you" I said taking it away from her "Look Bells, it's up to you, I think it would be fun" I said looking at her

"Maybe" Bells said

"Good enough for me, now let's eat!" Susannah said smiling

I looked at the food, I didn't get much just small servings I finished in fifteen minutes and excused myself and got into the pool, I love to be in the pool by myself, I put on my white bikini with pink hibiscuses on it and swam for thirty minutes before I felt a leg and looked up, it was Connie smoking, which was weird

"Are you smoking?" I said looking up at him with my arms crossed confused

"What about it?" He asked looking at me

"Well weren't you the one who said athletes shouldn't put that shit into their body or whatever?" I said looking up at him

"Well I'm not an athlete anymore" He said and lifted his joint and took a puff

I pushed myself up and sat next to him after putting my hair back underwater "Give me a puff then" I smiled looking at him

"No" He shook his head

"Why not?" I said trying to grab it he kept moving his hand back

"Because you shouldn't be like me" Conrad said looking at me, at this point I was now on his lap and he threw the joint, we where so close like kissing close

"So what's up with you Connie?" I whispered

He looked at me eyes watering and put a strand of hair behind my ear "Auggie I-" He was whispering, then everyone came out by everyone I mean the boys and Belly, I was still on Conrad's lap and we looked over and Jere whistled

"Lucky man!" Jere said, Belly looked down

"Shut up" I said getting up and Conrad did after me

"Go get ready!" Steven said "We need to leave in ten so be quick"

I stuck my tongue out at him as I dried off "I can take as long as I want, plus Bells is coming with us" I smiled

"Wait really?!?" Belly said excited

"Yeah no, we will just meet you there August, come on Conrad" Steven said

I rolled my eyes then Conrad walked past me "See ya Auggie" He waved

I smiled and nodded
