Stagnant Soars - poetry

losing

have you ever heard that saying "I'm treading in deep waters" 

or trying to keep a campfire lit while running out of match to burn

I sometimes feel like I'm playing in this game

a game in which I'm losing

I might recover

and maybe I'll conquer

but for right now

I'm simply just letting the other players get ahead

allowing them to take a piece of me as they go

whether it's my time

my patience

my advice

or my love

some people are meant to give more than they'll ever receive

and I believe that might be me
