Stagnant Soars - poetry

reopening wounds

they will come back.

and they will act as though nothing happened

they won't be apologetic, or empathetic

they will only want what they always wanted from you

they want the validation

the attention

and most importantly, 

they want to know that you'll let them come back

they don't care about the new books you read

or the vacation you took to europe

they have never had your best interest at heart so why would they now?

their ego is more important than your feelings

and yes you can give them the benefit of the doubt but why would you...again...

save yourself the trouble and keep your peace

don't feel obligated to let them in, it's okay to not forgive those who wronged you.
