I relaxed in that tub for 3 hours, no one came and bothered me. I was finally alone, floating with my racing thoughts. My body felt amazing my healing ability soothing my headache, as I got out of the bath and wrapped myself with the towel Matty got for me I could feel my body tense slightly at gravity. I got dressed in some clothes Matty laid out for me and headed down the hall and into the kitchen. The smell from the kitchen was divine, when I entered the kitchen I was greeted by several mouthwatering plates full of food laid out on the kitchen table. The room was decorated with my favorite colors royal purple and turquoise, even the little paper plates she had on the table were purple with turquoise glitter. I was unexpectedly delighted upon seeing a room filled with my favorite color. It warmed my heart to think they put so much thought into my birthday.

Matty and Alan were sitting on the couch opposite of the dinning area they had worked so hard on. Matty's head whipped around hearing me enter the room and she jumped up when she saw me.

"Happy Birthday!" she yells happily coming over and hugging me

"Thank you guys so much, this would have been so awful if it wasn't for you guys" I tell them

"We would do anything for you, your family" Alan says from the couch. Matty nods in agreement and hugs me again, I adore Mattys high energy she always made everything we did exciting.

"Now let's eat!" Matty exclaims motioning to the table, she definitely didn't need to tell either of us twice. My mouth watered at the thought of eating that delicious food, I was so used to bland food that never had enough seasoning. We gathered around and filled our plates, she went all out. There was a large metal plate full of huge slabs of perfectly cooked juicy steaks, a large bowl of homemade mashed potatoes with a pool of butter on top, the smell of garlic and other herbs made me want to eat the whole bowl. On the other side of the counter there was seasoned buttered broccoli, grilled asparagus, and extra cheesy mac and cheese.

"It's so delicious!" I tell Matty almost moaning as I bite into the juicy steak

"Thanks, Alan decorated the cake all by himself. I'm so excited for you to see it" she tells me excitedly grabbing Alan's hand. I smiled at them as I chewed, not wanting to stop eating, the food was so good I ended up eating way more than I should have. After we got done eating, Matty brought out my birthday cake. It was a three tier cake with my favorite colors on it. The cake looked like a professional designed it, the cake itself was purple with a turquoise waterfall. There was glitter, stars and the moon at the top.

"Wow, that looks professional, Alan. Thank you!" I tell him, he smiles shyly and lights the candles. They sing me a song we are taught by our ancestors. It is a song of existence and the celebration of life. It is sung in a language not many know anymore but we always pass the tradition on. From what I remember it translated to;

~ Glorious existence, long but short, celebrate all that is and all that will be. We thank our goddess for bringing our loved one into another year of life. May you have luck and love in abundance. May our wolves bind us and leave all malus behind on the day of your birth.~

Afterwards, I blew the candles out. I wished for my sister's safety, I thought of her constantly. I didn't have room for any more food in my belly, but I made myself try Alan's cake. It was so good, if I had room I would eat a whole slice but I was only able to eat a bit of it for now. With full bellies we headed out to their front porch with a bottle of wine, Alan started a fire in the small pit in front of the house and Matty poured two glasses of wine and handed them to me and Alan.

"You're not drinking?" I asked her, taking a sip of my wine, it was a well balanced wine with a smooth finish. When I first took a sip I could taste the grapes and even some strawberries, it had a vanilla and woodsy hint to it. Matty really loved her wine so her not wanting to drink was extremely odd for her. Matty shared a heavy look with Alan and sat down beside me on the chairs they had around the fire.
