The Other

Prologue

Lillian, Amelie, and Porter find themselves once again scavenging for parts in the local mall, now abandoned.

"I swear to God, if all of this is for naught, I'm gonna kill myself right here, right now," Porter says as he gathers unused phones and tablets.

"We can only hope," Amelie replies. "Any luck there, Lil?"

"I'm looking at laptops where we can upgrade our base's system, but I think I'm just gonna grab them all," Lillian says as she puts different laptops in her bag.

As Lillian finishes up her gathering, she hears a commotion nearby. "We have to leave," she says, standing up and taking out her gun.

"I'm ready to go," Amelie says, dusting herself off. "Where's Porter?" she asks, looking around.

"Porter!" Lillian whispers loudly. "Let's get the heck out of here."

Lillian walks towards a door where they can hear muffling. Kicking the door, Amelie and Lillian see Porter being held by a huge man, with a teenager aiding the man.

"Give us all your stuff," says the teenager, "or this guy gets it," he adds, pointing the knife at Porter.

"Okay, let's calm down," Amelie says as she lowers her bag. The teenager comes close to taking Amelie's bag when Lillian shoots the big man in the head, creating an instant kill. The confused teenager turns around to check but is met by Porter's gun in his face.

The commotion starts attracting the soldiers scouting the place. "HALT," says one of the soldiers.

"Shit, let's go," Lillian says as she pulls Amelie, with Porter following behind. They run until they reach the parking lot where they encounter five soldiers.

"Porter?! Car?!" Amelie shouts.

"There!" Porter points at a black jeep.

As they get inside the car, Porter starts with the wiring while Lillian takes the opportunity to use the sky window to shoot off the soldiers. Lillian's marksmanship takes out 4 out of 5 soldiers, with the 5th soldier calling for backup.

Amelie throws an acidic smoke bomb to buy time, and Porter successfully starts the car. He hits the pedal to the max, trying to escape the soldiers.

Exiting the mall, they are met with military cars and soldiers. Driving at max speed, Lillian starts shooting at the military cars, causing one of the car's wheels to explode and topple over the others, buying them some time to swerve right into the forest.

The military cars are still chasing them, but closer to their destination, Amelie activates the traps set beforehand.

Exploding mines and large nets start to appear and explode, but they are still being chased.

The traps give them time to arrive at their base. Amelie immediately starts working on her invention while Porter and Lillian fight off the soldiers and barricade the entrances.
