Namor

"Is it always this dark?" Moselle asks me.

We just got through the canal that brings you to the outskirts of Talokan city. The same one I brought Shuri through when I brought her here.

"You must wait just a few more moments. I promise it'll be worth it." I assure her. The sun hasn't risen yet, I wanted to get here early so she could see it. I can't help but chuckle a little when I see her roll her eyes in the dark. I am not sure how well she can see in these kinds of depths but for me, I can see her clearly. The way she looks around in the dark searching for any sign of my city. Her excited smile she tries to hide.

Not much later I heard the clanking of the stone timer in the distance go off and I know it's time. I look at Moselle who has also heard the noise and swim quickly beside her just in time for the sun to begin to shine. I watch her face as she watches the light grow, expanding over the stones of homes and people coming out to start the day. I watch her smile in wonder and excitement as she takes in my city, my true home.

"What do you think?" I asked her. Genuinely curious because she hasn't said anything.

"This is-" she starts but stops. She swims toward the edge of the outskirts and continues looking over every trace of Talokan. I am almost afraid she's disappointed until she turns back to face me. Her smile wide. "This is more beautiful than I imagined."

I give her a warm smile before I take her hand. "Then allow me to show you more since apparently I do not do well at describing my own city."

"You should." She teases. "Because you really did undersell me." She finishes with a laugh.

I show her the gardens where our farmers harvest sea kelp along with other plants. Her favorite was my private gardens that contained different species of purple coral and rare lotus flowers that aren't found on land because these can only grow in dark undersea caves.

We swim through the markets where more of my people are bustling about until they spot us. They greet me but a lot of my people don't even look at Moselle. I didn't think much of it because I didn't prepare my people for the surprise, until we came up to a group of elders weaving baskets. One of the elderly women dropped her knife to cut hang offs from her basket. Moselle reached for it and when she offered it to the women; it was like they all saw a ghost and bowed away from her, in fear.  Retreating back into the home.

I watch as Moselle slowly sets the knife down where the women was sitting and turns back to me. I see a flash of discomfort in her eyes, but it's quickly gone when she meets my eyes. Replaced with a small smile.

"I guess people didn't know I was coming." She says meekly.

Something isn't right. My people are acting afraid of her when I told them there isn't anything to worry about.

I swim next to her and take her hand in mine and begin making our way to my throne room.

"Namor where are we going?" She asks me.

"To properly introduce you."
