After the legendary hero, Kuuga, sealed the lifeforms known as Gurongi, life has been normal, until lifeforms called Spirits came to be, but luckily a boy named Shido Itsuka took charge and sealed them... but unbeknownst to them, while this was goin...
Shido: "Morning you three. Hey Tohka, you excited for our trip later today?"
Tohka: "Yeah! This museum place sounds really fun."
Yuzuru: "Jealous— you two are lucky. We have a test today."
Kaguya: "Yeah, you better bring us back something from the museum Shido." She said jokingly.
Shido: "Don't worry, I will."
Later in the day, Shido's class heads to the museum for their school's field trip. Once there, everyone had to get into groups of three. Shido made a group, or actually he was forced into, a group with Tohka and a girl with white hair named Origami Tobiichi, she was also a spirit and a former member of the AST.

Origami: "Shido, are you ready to look around?" Holds Shido's hand.
Tohka: Grabs Shido's arm. "Yeah, he's ready to look around with me." She gives Origami a smug look.
Shido: "Okay you two calm down. Why don't we check out the new display?" Points over to a sign showing where the new display is.
Both Tohka and Origami: "Ok!"
As the three walk over to the new display, they see lots of old relics like old weapons and pots. As they look around, Tohka sees a boy with red hair staring heavily at one relic that resembles some sort of belt.
Tohka: "Wow, that kid is really staring at that one. He must really like it."
Shido: "Huh, I guess so." As he looks at the boy, he notices that the kid was about to touch the belt, but a security guard tries to stop him, and he watches as the guard chases the boy as they run past him.
Origami: "Looks like that kid got in trouble." She said while looking at the relic as she thinks to herself, "What was so interesting about this relic that made him want to touch it?"
As everyone was looking around, a loud alarm could be heard. Not from the museum, but from the whole city. As everyone was soon escorted out of the museum and towards one of the bunkers to hide, Shido hid in the restroom until the coast was clear.
Kotori: "Shido, do you copy?"
Shido: Presses an earpiece in his ear. "Yeah, I copy. I'm in the museum's restroom."
Kotori: "Good. There's a spirit reading coming from inside the museum. Lucky you, but we can't get its confirmed location."
For some context, Kotori isn't just calling as a joke, she's actually a commander of an organization known as Ratatoskr and in charge of a ship called Fraxinus which helps Shido seal the spirits. As Shido leaves the bathroom, he starts to walk around the museum looking for the spirit, but after searching for a few minutes, instead of finding a spirit, he finds someone else, or someones, and they are people he didn't want to see. They were in full body armor with guns, and as soon as they saw Shido, they pointed their weapons at him. These, were the DEM wizards.
