"𝐌𝐨𝐦, 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭gonna be over soon?" Eight-year-old Layla Cheong's voice was nervous and filled with worry. But her mother refused to give up.
"It's going to be fine, Honey", her mother Calista reassured, which actually didn't do much.
"Am I gonna get a sister?" she kept on asking, as sweat dripped from her mother's forehead.
"Or a brother, Lay", Calista replied, letting out a pained groan, trying to keep as quiet as possible, so no one possibly nearby would hear.
"Mom? Why aren't you at medical?"
Her mother sighed because of the questions. But whatever to keep her daughter more silent.
"Because, Honey, no one on the Ark is allowed to have more than one child, if anyone else finds out that I'm going to have a second child, there's no more mom, okay?" Layla nodded before she continued. "And maybe you'll never see your sibling. Those are the laws."
"But why are the laws so unfair?"
"Because the chancellor can go suck my non-existent dick."
