Chapter 26

𝐎𝐌𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓

"God look at what they've done to your body" Nae shook her head as she ran her hands over his bloody and bruised chest.

AJ winced from the contact

"Don't worry about me I'm fine" he assured her but Nae laughed it off.

"Right" she shook her head

"If I didn't convince them to let me bathe you, you'd smell like shit. I mean what if you had to shit? They'd fucking let you shit your pants too and sit in it for days as well." Nae laughed at the thought.

"How did you convince them? Did they put a hand on you!" AJ scanned her body for any marks.

"AJ I'm alright. All I had to do was cook the guys some food and that was it."

"The guys" AJ  dry laughed. " Seems like you doing just fine on your own," he remarked.

"If I wasn't on their good side I'd probably be tied up too."

"You shouldn't even be here" AJ kisses his teeth.

"Yeah no shit anyone would like to be kidnapped and held hostage in a home full of gang bangers," Nae remarked.

"This shit wasn't supposed to happen."

"Make sense of why you wanted to run away. If I owed 20 grand to someone, I'd be on my way out of the country by now."

"You think this is funny" AJ mugged her.

" I could've been long gone by now. They offered me a way out but I chose to stay."

"What do you mean?"

"They offered me money in exchange for silence. That I wouldn't speak on what they were doing to you or the whole kidnapping situation."

"Why didn't you take it?"

"What kind of question is that?" Nae gave him a weird look.

"You should've left and gone back home, to college."

"And left you to die here?"

"Renae this is my problem that I got myself into. It has nothing to do with you. I already feel bad enough getting you caught up in my shit."

Renae bowed her head knowing what he was saying was true but she had already developed some feelings for him.

"I'm done so you can put back on your clothes for now until I can find you some new ones," Nae told him.

"Thanks" AJ stepped out of the tub.

"You're welcome" Renae mumbled

A loud bang coming from the door made Renae jump a little and AJ pulled her close to him.

"What's going on in there is bout time y'all be done and out.!"

"Just give me a second!" Renae yelled.

"I called Trinity and told her everything and–"

"What?! How?" AJ cut her off.

"Just hold on tight down there I got a plan" Renae opened the bathroom door to leave but AJ pulled her back.

"What do you mean you got a plan?" AJ whispered.

"Just be patient. I'll try to see you before the end of the day." Renae whispered back.

"Ayee!" a hand pushed the bathroom door open and a stud looked at the both of them to see what was going on.

AJ felt agitated as she left the bathroom because he was a little bit worried that she might get herself hurt. Now all he had to do was have faith and trust that she would deliver.
