I toy with the remnants of a music box Jack adored. One I've spent my last few years alive searching for. It's exactly like he said. Golden crested edges, a sturdy box carved of mahogany wood. Most notably, a monkey wearing a matching vest and hat, playing the cymbals triumphantly. It sang a small tune, broken and decrepit, like at any moment it would stop singing for good. It reminded me of Sean in every way. It was charming, strangely, charming.
The bidding went tremendously, I felt whole again being reunited with a piece of Sean. I miss him. Ever since he's parted, life has been cruelly long. Drawn out. While riding away from the worn down opera house, I leaned my weary head on the window of the carriage. My eyes met with someone on the outside, someone I recognized. Someone I forgot to remember after all these years; Ethan Nestor. I nodded solemnly, acknowledging him, yet he made no response to me. Ethan turned on his heels, and walked back into the opera house.
