.Meira's POV.

I've been pacing back and forth in front of Austin's room for the past ten minutes.

Should I knock? I mean, I can, right?

Why do I feel so weird walking into his room when I've done so many heinous acts previously. Which are all he's unaware of...

Even thinking about those moments makes me want to choke myself to death. Austin can never learn about them. I would rather let the earth swallow me alive than face him after those revelations. They are going to the grave with me.

Are we still in our beef? Yes.

Seeing his handsome face pisses me off but also makes my core clench at the same time.

We haven't talked; except for the time when asks me necessary questions and I answer briefly before full-blown ignoring him.

One proper conversation? Hell nawh.

As if we talk like that...

Meira, just because you guys are fighting doesn't mean you should be nervous about seeing him.

"Ah fuck it, I have somewhere to be and I can't afford to waste any more time." I walked closer to the door to knock but hesitated for a second before shutting my eyes tightly and forcing myself to knock.

I heard footsteps coming closer and, with a click, the door opened. Austin stands in front of me in his wife-beater. His muscular lines on his arms made my knees go weak, but I forced myself to not melt at the sight.

Control, Meira.

The light from his windows creates a halo effect in the background around him, making him look approachable and pleasant.

"May I help you?" His annoyed, gruff voice made me eat up my words.

So much of an angel. This guy is the devil's cousin.

"I..." I eyed him for a second to find any trace of frustration in him that was caused by my presence in any way. When I found none, I continued, "I'm going out tonight. Thought I'd let you know beforehand so that you don't start up a fight when I'll be on the doorstep."

He raised his brow. "You're not going out. Especially when it's a weekday. You have classes tomorrow."

"I'm not asking for your permission." I resorted harshly, "I'm just letting you know. Take this information kindly or shove it up your ass, for all I care." I turn and walk away.

He dropped his hand from the doorknob and started following me, "I said, no."

"Fuck off." I spat looking sideways at him.

"When can you not be such a stubborn little ki–"

I turned around and almost knocked myself into him, "Finish that line and trust me, Austin, I'll give you more reasons to regret taking this job." My glare seemed to do the job as he retreated back.

He watched me for a couple of second and let out a frustrated sigh. He chuckled humorlessly, shaking his head.

"Knock on my door after you're ready. I'm so not letting you get out of my sight this evening." Saying those words...so easily...he walked back into his room and closed the door with a bang.

Knock on my door after you're ready. I'm so not letting you get out of my sight this evening.

Translation: I'll be accompanying you and you're in no way in hell getting shit-faced or end up in jail.
